I did hit a squirrel a block from my house. He got a double tap (run over with each tire). Amazingly he ran off but I gotta think he didn't make it.*

I've never hit anything but both of those creatures tonight I'm pretty sure would have wrecked me. The thought of tumbling at downhill speeds is something my old body doesn't need. I was braking but it's tough to scrub off speed going downhill.

Unrelated but funny (to me ) story I was in a line of traffic going pretty slow and a squirrel runs off the curb and bops right into a cars hubcap, bounced off ran back to the curb. Lucky little bugger.
 
Following the protests in Wichita and I realized that one of the good reporters at the station we watched is from Waterloo and a Hawkeye. You had a good run Ben Jordan.

This situation in Wichita nearly just went bad really quick. Hundreds of people protesting and blocking traffic and someone started shooting off fireworks. Obviously everyone thought it was gunshots.

Blowing nothing at all. Outside unit kicks in, but no air coming through the vents. Landlord thinks we might have burned through a belt. Nasty, nasty odor in our basement last night that we could not pinpoint. (Husband was drying laundry at the time) Wondering how much sleep I'll get tonight.

Mostly non-black anarchists blocked I-35 this morning. They are calling themselves "allies" of BLM but I think they are more akin to the kids that wanted to riot at the Republican convention here in St. Paul a few years ago.

Has been fixed. Just some tiny-ish battery that the guy switched out. I've seen the forecast for next week. Let's hope it cools down before RAGBRAI the week after.
