volleyball fans may be interested to hear that Kayla Banwarth out of Dubuque (went to Nebraska, boo) just got named to the Olympic team as libero. Not surprising but cool.

Nebraska is well-represented on this team with three out of the 12.

but someday I may like it!

Though I think your thought is what I'll be thinking when I get home tonight and go out. This shall suck balls.

Yeah, but she counts as ours for the olympics, not theirs

Anyone ever deal with plantar fasciitis? I've had a lot of pain in my feet over the last few months, hoping that maybe stretching and doing exercises for it might help.

I think I had more of a fallen arch problem, but those arches from the good feet store helped me. I move them to whatever shoes that I'm wearing that day.

How the **** do you buy shoes if one foot is a whole size bigger?

Relative was born with a club foot Drs. did a wonderful job of straightening it, I believe it's 2 sizes smaller however. The answer is you buy 2 pair of shoes and have extras. There are shoe trading organizations, for when they are littler.

Seems CG has three choices

1. Run barefoot. Saw a South African gal (Boise State team) run barefoot at U of M cross country meet last fall. Apparently inspired by Zola Bud?

2. Fly overseas to some sweat shop in SE Asia and have them make you a few pair of custom shoes.

3. Take up biking.

#2 is the logical choice, have them shipped in by the dozen and have the toes stuffed with heroin, sell of the heroin and profit.

I can confirm that Arob's thought is what I was thinking while running.

I wish drinking rum burned calories and gave me muscle/aerobic endurance. That would be great. Or ice cream, ice cream could do that too.

Wild life made tonight's ride interesting 2 out 4 downhills had freakin animals in the road. Deer the 1st time as a came around a corner there it was whistled at it ran into the ditch. Cat ran out and stopped on my side of the road finally finished running across the road when I got within about 50' of it. First third of ride felt like I was riding in molasses, got to 1st hill and said what the heck and went for the loop. Not a great ride but glad I finished it.

Another reason for a small person in the house: Makes a good additional weight for ab work, push ups, and tail lifts. Sometimes bicep curls are still an option. EXCEPT when they start thinking it's funnier to bounce on you instead of helping. :wubclub:

You know what's awesome? Not having A/C in your apartment on a day like today.

I saw a family of skunks and a cat too!

Ever hit anything? The deer lurking in Theodore Wirth Park keep me on my toes. The trail is downhill through the park and the pavement abuts the woods. It's pretty easy to go down that hill at 24-25 mph (even on hybrid) but the thought of hitting a deer at that speed kinda keeps me from rolling too fast there, at least towards dusk.

I did hit a squirrel a block from my house. He got a double tap (run over with each tire). Amazingly he ran off but I gotta think he didn't make it.*

* KC and Pants are going to call me a wildlife murderer. :swoon:
