**2016 Capital City League Thread**

Anybody know what happened to Prohm's dislike of CCL? I thought he made statements last summer to indicate that ISU players wouldn't be taking part this year, but something must have changed his mind.

I'm guessing he came into it worried about injury, then discovered that defense is no priority thus reducing the risk, as well as learning about the great PR with fan interactions.

SIAP but who is Travon Mitchell??
One of Montes friends from Michigan that has been hanging around the team for awhile. He played at a smaller college. He contacted me along with Bowie and told me to post highlights for him. So that's why I have them on my account.

Yeah, I think he's averaging more minutes than I would want if he's putting up 12 and 8. As an undersized 5 man, he is going to have to play really hard to make up for his size, and I think you'd want to keep his minutes a little low so he can play hard and aggressive all the time.

Holden averaged 8 and 5 for a mediocre LA Tech team against much lesser competition. Not sure why anyone would expect 12 and 8 from him but if he is to achieve those numbers, he will have to cut his foul numbers in half to play long enough to do it.

We've had several transfers from mid-majors increase their productivity after coming here. We've also had some that did not. Who knows with Holden, but its not an extreme jump to go from 8/5 to 12/8 if he plays 30 minutes a game.

It is hard for a big man to get good averages when you aren't the top scoring option. They had two guards that were scorers and one of the forwards did the bulk of the scoring. That said, averaging double figures is harder than people think. Last year we were fairly balanced but only Nader, Morris, and Niang averaged 12 pts or more.

I'd be happy if he was averaging 8/9
myself..A few cheap buckets, box out, rebound, and defend is all I'm looking for from him...Pretty sure we won't be running a ton of offense through him with the backcourt we have..

IIRC, Prohm said something about preferring to do something on our own in Ames.

I don't think you can judge a transfer's productivity based on the previous school. While he might get fewer looks due to our guards, he might get better looks when he gets them due to the skill of a point guard such as Monte. Just too many variables to predict.

100% this. Most big men can't create their own shot and depend on quality guards to get them the ball. Playing with a better team might actually help him be more efficient and get the ball in better position to score.

Who is #2 in orange and what did he ever do to Burton? Deonte looked like he was on a mission to school the kid.

It's not that kid, but there are several playing that my high school boys know from various things and they kind of love watching Thompson's videos and watching the arrogant ones get schooled.

Think it's Billy Wampler, Drake.

I know someone with a connection to the Drake team and according to this person, a lot of the team doesn't get along and no one particularly likes each other. I thought it would be funny if the two getting into in the 2nd game on Sunday were Drake players, but no such luck.

Are you talking about the two big guys banging around under the basket? Or was that the third game?

This doesn't surprise me one bit, that program is a mess. I'd be surprised if Giacoletti is still there after this season.
