It is almost the 4th of July. That means it time to listen to the greatest composer of all time John Philip Sousa.

Growing up in Fort Dodge I am required to state that Karl King is the greatest marching band composer of all time. It's not true but I'm still required to state it.

That feeling when someone who has been posting here for 5+ years and has 12k+ posts isn't the gender you thought they were...

Thing is, I remember Klamath making comments about playing football in high school. I think the ambiguity is deliberate. TBH, I usually go gender non-specific in a new on-line venue (particularly one that is sports or politically oriented). It's self-preservation, really - there are a lot of guys out there that don't believe women can hold a valid opinion on many topics, and it's annoying being on the receiving end of all of the condescension.

Cue all the faux-chauvinistic responses (and some NOT so faux...)

I believe that women can hold a valid opinion on lots of topics. Nail polish, shoes, wine coolers, hair products, reality TV, celebrity gossip and pop music are just a few examples.

The one today was not so ambiguous. Also, are you really asserting that girls can't play football?

I also chose an intentionally gender-neutral name when I started posting on message boards (14 years ago - YIKES!). Although my gender neutrality has long since vanished here :)

Insomnia, so let me know if I need to pick you up at MSP, Pants.

Like he wants to ride on the back of a bike. :skeptical:

Playing catch-up mid-morning here. Had errands to run this morning. Speaking of the word errands, it's one of my word blind spots. Whenever I go to type it I just cannot visualize it or even phonetic it out to get close enough for computer assistance. There's not a single word substitute so I am stuck until I can remember it. Weird.

Known that for a while now. At least a year.

I knew she was female for a while, and she's talked about serving in the military, so I always assumed her avatar was her.

Didn't know she was 6'2 though! GTO, I thought at one point you were going to invite her to RTT.
