Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

Dumb stuff. My entire family woke up in a crappy mood this morning and getting out of the house was just an ordeal. I'll bounce back. My personality doesn't let me be crabby for too long.

I'm just too boring with my "beer palate". I don't drink a lot of beer (as an older woman, you don't buy beer - you rent it), but when I do I tend to stick with one that I know I like. I'm not fond of cans or tap, so that limits me. If I'm ordering a beer or buying a six, 99% of the time it will be Dos Equis Amber.

The difference from regular Dos Equis and Dos Equis Amber is night and day. It's like Heineken and Heineken Dark.

Here is a picture of a table holding the meat for a meat raffle.

They should draw chalk outlines of a cow and a pig and put the meat in the appropriate section. Then just hope nobody brings hot dogs.

I'm at trucker Disney world. Stuck in a long line and some jackwagon (all have Minny plates) won't move forward unless there is huge gaps. Screws everything up, and jams stuff up behind them.

Looks like I am going to have to go over to the UK about June 25 - July 8th for the project we were doing on that conference call. I have no idea why I would need to be there so long but maybe I'll actually get a chance to see something this go round. Last time all I saw was a hotel and data center.

My dad was admitted to the hospital last week. Things took a bad turn Saturday/Sunday and he passed away last night. Didn't really feel like myself, so I didn't particularly feel like posting.

You have my condolences Pants. Sympathy sent your way.

Mostly the same here. There are some days though...you start off on a wrong foot and it just takes a bit to get back on track. The older I get, the less tolerance I seem to have for "dumb stuff". ;)

And that means absolutely nothing to me. Is that good or bad?

Where in the UK?

My old job kept threatening that I needed to be in the U.K. for long periods of time. I pushed back because I didn't think it was necessary but I should have just gone along with it and paid for my wife to come over as well so we could at least enjoy the country together.

Somebody's hair is getting pretty long. Might be time for baby's first haircut.

I think that's actually a small turkey or a large chicken. Unless they have a package of teriyaki kabobs with pineapple, there is never fruit at a meat raffle.

Dagnabbit, you're right. I saw the color on the package and thought it was the red netting in a bag of oranges.

OK, now we're back to good...nothing wrong with a meat raffle. I think I may have to talk to the local brewery about starting one up. We'll do it up right with some local beef or heirloom pork.
