*** Official 2015-16 NBA Playoff Thread ***

41 apiece with a few minutes left for James and Irving. Irving hardly missed a shot.

I know Green is out, but disappointed in what could have been for this finals. Really it's been 5 uncompetitive games. This game was close in the first half but all Cavs for most of the 3rd and 4th.

Ha! Read 'over 40' as age.

Yes, incredible performances and kind of a weird series considering all of the star power.

James and Irving had to have perfect nights to win in a game where Green was out, Bogut left early in the third and the Warriors were missing wide open shots.
The leaugue got what they wanted though. More games. Warriors will close out in Cleveland with Green back.

Don't forget the fact that they had to win that game at Oracle. I agree Green completely changes that team though. Still hope it gets to 7.

They had sub-par performances from pretty much everyone else though. Lebron and Irving don't have to score 40 if Love, Smith and Jefferson pick it up a little bit. They also survived an assault by Klay Thompson in the first half where he made 6 threes including 3-4 really deep low percentage shots.

You could also look at it as the Warriors had really good games by Thompson and Curry, and still lost.

Cleveland also missed a lot of wide open shots by anyone other than James and Irving.

I still think the Warriors win game 6 or 7. Nothing would really surprise me though.

I still can't believe that opposing players, let alone those player's family members, think it's a good idea to "poke the bear." How has trash talking Lebron ever worked out for people? Not well 99% of the time.

Gotta get more than 30 out of the rest of squad to win anymore games.

Unwise, but I don't know if his performance last night had anything to do with the trash talk. Historically Lebron has put up ridiculous individual numbers in playoff elimination games. I saw a stat last night that his career average in elimination games is something like 30/10/7.

Bogut's knee injury could make things interesting in Game 6. I figure Kerr has to start his "Lineup of Death" with Green at the five. But there won't be much of an interior defensive presence behind Green, so if he gets into foul trouble then Steve Kerr is going to have some tough decisions to make. I expect the Cavs to attack the paint early and try to get a couple calls on Green.

On the other side, with Bogut out there is nowhere on the floor for the Cavs to hide Kevin Love on defense. That small lineup for Golden State is such a terrible matchup for him.

Curry is averaging 22.2 ppg 4.6 apg in the final
Lebron is averaging 28 ppg 8 apg. And people think curry is the best player in the league.

This. I think the Bogut going down was a bigger deal than people are making it seem, depending on how long he is out(I would guess for the rest of the series, that looked really bad to me). But people don't give Bogut his kudos on defense because it doesn't come up in the box score. But him being in the middle and being a presence at the rim was a big reason why Lebron didn't do it continually, or if he did wasn't having amazing success. When Draymond and Bogut are in, it is hard for Lebron to get to the rim and finish like he wants to, taking away that inside presence behind a pressing Draymond makes it easier for Lebron if he gets around Draymond out by the 3 point line. I do think that it will be very, very hard for the Cavs to win this series, but I am curious to see how much Bogut being out effects them in Game 6.

He tagged Lebron in the nuts at the end of game 4. The decision to issue a Flagrant 1 came less than 48 hours later, well in advance of Game 5 tonight.

I think Lebron baited him into it, and I think Draymond Green was stupid to fall for it. If he wants to play on the edge, fine. I understand that's what has made him an All Star. But he has to be smarter than that, and even though his teammates are saying all the right things to defend him publicly, they ought to be ****** off at him. The league office already gave him the benefit of the doubt once after the Steven Adams incident, and they couldn't keep turning a blind eye. He pushed them into a corner where they had to do something.

The Warriors can still win tonight, but with him out of the lineup the Cavs should have a considerably easier task trying to match up with them.

Yet 'Bron does worse and will continue to play through the remainder of the series. It's ridiculous...

Green wasn't suspended because he retaliated against Lebron. He was suspended because he went over the limit for the number of flagrant fouls you can commit in the playoffs. I don't know how people continue to be confused by that. Lebron was also given a technical, he just hasn't reached the number to get a suspension yet because he doesn't have the maturity of an 8 year old like Draymond Green.

It isn't a crippling injury for the Warriors; it just gives them a lot less lineup flexibility. Their small lineup with Curry, Thompson, Barnes, Iguodala and Green is just fine and it gives Cleveland fits. The problem now is that Kerr has limited options to go to a big lineup if Green gets into early foul trouble. Festus Ezeli is probably their best option. He's not a bad player and they'll get a good effort from him, but this is a hell of a time to have to give big minutes to a player near the end of the bench.

:notworthy: Exactly. Should have been suspended against Thunder for it.

Lebron and other Cavs have done similar things that Green has. I have seen Lebron give several elbows to guys with nothing called. People are making a big deal out of nothing regarding Green. If this was 15 years ago he would have been playing last night. League wrongly inserted itself into the series and showed preferential treatment for protecting Lebron. Like they typically do. Like Phil Jackson has stated. Lebron travels 50% of the time. Lebron flopped when his own guy hit him and they gave the other team a technical. Lebron is just as annoying as Green and even more whiny. Green just called Lebron what he is, a b****. That's why he got so sensitive about it because it hit home.

They deemed the retaliation a flagrant. So, Yes he was suspended because he retaliated against Lebron. Even though if they had called the technical in real time against Lebron it would have been a dead ball technical on Green.
And yes Lebron does have the maturity of an 8 year old when he plays. That is what that constant whiny cry baby look he has on the whole game is.
