Emmanuel Malou thread

I didn't say literally do his homework, but I would hope we put someone in place to help him, tutor or something. I understand he wasn't enrolled at Iowa St, so it makes it slightly more complicated, but that's the "pushing the envelope" I expect.

And maybe Iowa St did all that, and there are still issues. Which means he was far more behind than we all thought.

You said I'll be pretty disappointed in Iowa St for not making sure he got his associates.

I'm sure ISU is doing everything they can, within the rules, so being disappointed in ISU if he doesn't make it is foolish.

Now, if we find out they dropped the ball somehow then by all means have at it.

I have the feeling the academic issues have more to do with his time in prep school and coming from Australia than graduating from DMACC. If it's just getting an associates, that's pretty cut and dry. This seems far more complicated

Combo of both.

The big issue is his clock though. They are mentioning academics Cuz his grades haven't come out yet for this semester.

When Prohm says we will see after next week when the semester ends whether it is even feasible for Malou, that pretty much says the academics are a long way from being OK. He evidently has a big challenge in summer school before the whole "clock" thing even enters the picture.

Welcome to the ledge, would you like to jump with me?

The fact that Prohm hinted it might not be feasible to get enough credits this summer says a lot about his academics.

But that doesn't mean if academics were ok, that the clock would be ok. There is a reason prohm is both helping him with plan b and we are recruiting. Love to see him come, but not counting on it at all.

I thought Malou's issue with the NCAA isn't about his academics but about when his college "clock" started.
You're right. People like to complain just to complain. Sure he might need to take another class or two over the summer, but if he doesn't make it to Iowa State it will NOT be because of academics.

The fact that Prohm mentioned Malous name makes me think that McDermott is coming back to coach.

Do you think ISU should start sending tutors to monitor incoming high school recruits too? Its not up to Iowa State to get Malou his degree, its up to Emmanuel Malou to get his degree.

Maybe realized it would help his case to quit playing ball.

I don't think Malou ends up here either but I don't necessarily think landing Holden means Malou is out. Malou has never played a minute of division 1 basketball. Even if he was going to be here for sure, I think Prohm still wanted a guy who has proven himself a bit. Not only that, Malou isn't really a true 5. With that being said though, I'd be surprised if Malou is cleared. I don't know anything more than what you guys know.

Malou is good enough to get invited to play with the Boston Celtics this summer. That answers that question for me. How many other pro teams want to take a look?

Getting a workout is a huge difference from playing with them in the summer. JFC.

Maybe getting a true 5 is a prerequisite for Malou wanting to come. Now that we have one Malou can feel better about getting to play more of a 3/4 which would showcase his NBA potential and on Monday he just needs to pass the classes so they can finalize the deal. I don't think we're as attractive to Malou if he's slotted as a 5.

That's not it.
