Does that happen to be the one down in Albert Lea, it's the last year for it due to declining attendance. 35 dollar entry fee for t-shirt and a meal I think.

No, this is a MS ride in the twin cities.

Thunder boomers this morning while I was getting ready for work, thunder boomers now. Noisy day. No funnel clouds though - those can stay in Omaha (but far away from Nickels & Gr8...).

And HEY! A Train sighting!!!

I got a nice surprise in the mail today...a bonus check from my previous employer. It wasn't much since I was only employed by them for two and a half months and they obviously had a terrible year. I know cool story bro.

Sitting here watching the baseball game drinking a Kona and the phone rings. Sister had been looking at an email Rhine trip last minute offer and after considering September couldn't pass up the deal for May. Called to invite me along and an hour later I had a trip booked.

Switzerland to Amsterdam and then hang out there for another 3 days to sightsee. They were offering free airfare from the east coast (trying to fill their river cruise boat) and flying from MPLS cost a whopping $100. I didn't even get bent over as a single booker. Everything is usually price double-occupancy which can make traveling alone REALLY crazy spendy.

Amsterdam to Vienna?

Never mind - didn't read closely enough. You're starting in Switzerland.

We started in Amsterdam on the Rhine, switched over to the Main, then the Danube into Vienna. It was a really cool cruise because you could see so much as you were sailing, and you could wander around the towns where you docked easier than you can from one of the big ocean-going ships. I hope you have a great time!

What's funny is that Lew & I got a discount flyer today from one of the cruise lines and were talking about how nice it will be to do some of these low fare fill-the-staterooms cruises after we retire, when we can take off without having to arrange for time off. I'm kinda jelly that you're already there!

Advantage of being semi-retired as I can just take up and go. Maybe this easy no planning no thinking about it trip will get me off my *** to do some traveling. Part of the rationale for the new car is to do some trips out west this late summer/fall.
