Also, I would like to thank everyone who donated to my fundraising for Polar Bear Plunge. Last year the Greek Community raised 180,000 dollars making it the largest donation ever to the Special Olympics of Iowa. This year however, we raised 288,000. This donation alone allows 1,300 more Olympians to participate in this years games. I can't wait to go volunteer and see some of the biggest smiles out there competing. Again, THANK YOU!!

Volunteering with the Special Olympics was a blessing - so much love and sportsmanship among the competitors. It would do some mainstream athletes (pros & amateurs alike) good to work with these Olympians. Might bring them back to earth a wee bit. ;)

And Barbecue, never forget barbecue...and around Sheboygan, they call grilling "frying out". Was in Kohler for an interview, guy making small talk asked if I fried out, said they like to get together and fry out. I thought he was talking about a Turkey fryer or something, so I said no, I'd seen it done but didn't have room for a turkey fryer in my apartment. He got this weird look on his face, then was all "Oh, I think other places they call Frying out 'grilling'".

I really needed the job at the time, but was thinking "errr, I'm not sure I'm going to fit in here."
I used to have a girlfriend from Milwaukee that got cash from a Time Machine instead of an ATM or Cash machine. the predominant network of cash machines in Wisconsin at the time was "Tyme".

The "cook shack" option sounds great, but it sounds suspiciously like he's offering you up as a sacrifice to the grizzly gods to appease them. You may want to send the least favorite child out on a four wheeler first to make sure it's safe.
The least favorite child varies from hour to hour. When the chosen hour is reached, the selection will be made.

When those first started making their widespread appearance in Washington I was in college. We called it "praying to the money god". The machines typically only dispensed twenties so if you were skirting a negative balance in your account you were SOL.

Running errands after preschool. Told the girls we were going to the Cy store. They got all excited because they thought I meant University Bookstore at the Union. They like leaving the parking ramp on the "twisty slide". They were mad when I said we weren't going there. I meant Cy's locker room.

Not me - but I think my father may have had one during his heart surgery...

Don't know much about it though - just that they ping the heart muscle from a device that is passed down the esophagus.
I have to get one on Friday and wondering if anyone has any first hand experience

Well my sisters have finally decided that we are heading to our aunts visitation tonight instead of funeral. Meeting at my house, hopefully then they will tell me where we are going. Know she lived in fort dodge, so I'm guessing there. She married my youngest uncle. No blood lineage left in my dads generation. Only ones left in the generation before me is my mom and one aunt.
Say hi to my parents if its in Dodge. My mom will be the one talking constantly.
