I honestly don't remember that Slow Pitch Softball thread from 4 years ago that was resurrected last night.

00 - We've narrowed down our campsites at Yellowstone (well actually be in the Grand Tetons) to the one you recommended and one other one. Also, one of the neighbor's bosses has offered that we can use his ranch (45 minutes north of Yellowstone). We can't use the main house but can stay in the "Cook Shack". It has 4 bedrooms, a 17 foot breakfast bar and heated floors throughout. He also offered up the use of his four 4-wheelers and any of his guns except his Desert Eagle (that was nice but only one of the families hunts). He did warn us that if we go beyond the fences of his property, there is a spot that has the greatest concentration of Grizzlies in the country. One year they were hunting for elk and shoot 14 of them but could only bring 3 home because the bears got to the others first.

The "cook shack" option sounds great, but it sounds suspiciously like he's offering you up as a sacrifice to the grizzly gods to appease them. You may want to send the least favorite child out on a four wheeler first to make sure it's safe.

Voting to.elect judges is sick and wrong. No offense intended to Wisconsin.
Yeah, I really don't like like. I guess I get the logic that it keeps judges accountable because the can't just rule in favor of the rich, powerful and corperations, but in reality it means that judges are getting campaign contributions from the rich, powerful, and coperations (all of whom may appear before those judges some day), and it also leads to more guilty verdicts and harsher sentences. Iowa has the best process IMO.

But then again, Wisconsin does other things which are sick and wrong, like watching porn while eating breakfast at a restaurant and calling drinking fountains bubblers (looking at you Milwaukee)

How much do you like your wife, and does she have good life insurance? Two most important questions here.

Lawman, there's a juice bar owner that is working his way towards your old stomping grounds. He had one in Corwith a couple years ago, just open and closed one is Nora springs this year. Seems to be going east. He's a real keeper. We had some ambulance runs that involved his businesses, customers and employees, not a group you want around anyone you know.

And Barbecue, never forget barbecue...and around Sheboygan, they call grilling "frying out". Was in Kohler for an interview, guy making small talk asked if I fried out, said they like to get together and fry out. I thought he was talking about a Turkey fryer or something, so I said no, I'd seen it done but didn't have room for a turkey fryer in my apartment. He got this weird look on his face, then was all "Oh, I think other places they call Frying out 'grilling'".

I really needed the job at the time, but was thinking "errr, I'm not sure I'm going to fit in here."

The only thing that I really know about Doctor Who is that the snobby British redhead married to Doctor (Goose) Green on ER played a character named River (Phoenix?). Mixing a LOT of genres here! ;)

I did, however, watch Torchwood in its entirety...

I really didn't like that story line.

Had a little bit of insomnia last night, which is bad timing since I have to work my day job and bww at night the next three days.

So weird. I'd think frying out would have to involve oil.

Well my sisters have finally decided that we are heading to our aunts visitation tonight instead of funeral. Meeting at my house, hopefully then they will tell me where we are going. Know she lived in fort dodge, so I'm guessing there. She married my youngest uncle. No blood lineage left in my dads generation. Only ones left in the generation before me is my mom and one aunt.

Sorry. River in Doctor Who. Though Torchwood had some pretty creepy episodes.

My son thinks it's hysterical that I have seen ALL of Torchwood but NONE of Doctor Who. I guess you could say I bypassed the Doctor.

I tripped over Torchwood in a "commercial" on a DVD of several episodes of Primeval (a British "time portals & dinosaurs" show that was really pretty entertaining). The clip was entertaining, so I put the show in my queue. Final season was pretty meh, but the first couple of seasons were pretty fun. :)

Although my mother died when she was 52, four of her 7 siblings and several of her SILs & DILs are still going strong (including the oldest brother, who must be pushing 100 by now). My father's two brothers have passed, but both of their wives are still with us.

Bodes pretty well for my own longevity. :)

I'm having barbecue for dinner.

I'm going to sneak through a drive thru for supper, and eat it on the way home to keep from torturing PapaLew. He's doing prep for his old man exam tomorrow and is on clear liquids, poor baby!

There has been a couple trends in my dads side. First, the women who marry one with our last name live long lives. Gma was 96, great gma was around that too. Mom is 85. The second is, the farming sons don't meet their gpa. My dad never met his dads dad. I never met my dads dad. My sons never met my dad. My boys are 15 and 8. Gotta keep them single.
