Considering Oklahoma just took more threes and jumpers two days ago and WVU committed 8 more fouls that game I'd say your trolling attempt is flawed

No attempt to troll, I just have no skin in the game when I say I watched the game and thought ISU really didn't do anything to attack and get to the line a lot. They moved the ball around and shot open shots (at a pretty nice clip, no less). ISU was just doomed by the inability to get any stops.

Except the team that fouls almost the least in the NCAA got called for 7 more than a team who averages 24 fouls a game. But, no you are right. Same as every other night. You expect some calls to go home teams way, but to act like it wasn't beyond that is trying to hard to not be a homer.

WVU draws fouls, that is the game they play. They have played 8 home games and here are the numbers:

WVU averages getting called for 20 fouls per game at home
WVU opponent averages 25 fouls per game at WVU
So WVU on average gets 5 LESS FOULS CALLED ON THEM AT HOME.

You can cry, and whine and b!tch and moan all you want about officials, but all you do is sound stupid. This is college BB, and this has been going on for years and years. It is like some of you don't even watch any other college BB at all. Heck in the WVU vs Kansas game when Kansas was #1 in the country, KU has 32 fouls to WVU 20 fouls. That is life on the road in the Big12, and in college BB in general.

Isn't this where someone points out that ISU took a ton of threes and jumpers? Neither team played much in the way of defense tonight.

Did you watch the game?

I'm not mad about no-calls when we were driving, I'm mad about them consistently fouling on their offensive rebounds & when we were bringing the ball up the damn court.

How does West Virginia AVERAGE 20 fouls at home when this was their 2nd game with less than 20? What do they average if you take away last night's 14?

I'm sorry but the refs did not lose us the game. It was our inability to stop even the slightest nose bleed that got us beat.

Our defense is dog **** and it's mostly due to our extremely short bench.

ISU's only jump shots they took were 3's. They took 24 3's (one more than West Virginia) and the rest of the time they were attacking the rim.

You do understand how statistic work, correct? If you want to make up stats, then look up the average yourself.

Since when is attacking the rim get you a foul called? ISU has attacked the rim all season long, and hardly ever goes to the line, we are very bad at getting to the foul like. That isn't just a problem in this game, that has been a season long problem.

You seem to watch a lot of BB besides ISU (or at least all the Iowa games). You have to understand that in college BB the home team always gets more calls, heck as I pointed out on Average WVU fouls 5 fewer times at home.

Home teams always get more calls, that is why college BB home court advantages are what they are. I looked back at the fouls and ISU gets called for 2.5 fouls LESS than the opponent at Hilton, and called for 3.5 MORE fouls on the road vs their opponent (conference games only). This isn't a coincidence, this is the way it is, home teams always get the benefit of the calls. Last night was no different than every night of college BB.

By that logic how do you explain ISU getting called for 20 fouls against WV at Hilton, when West Virginia gets called for 19. Yet West Virginia plays a game that is based around fouling so often the refs don't call them all.

Huggins basically challenged the referees and the NCAA and said, "my guys are going to ride the other team from behind, hand check, and slap before the other team crosses the half line. Are you gonna call 50 fouls tonight on us or do you have a plane to catch?".

He's playing a system based around inadequate officiating. I don't blame him because I feel like he's one of us he can see the refs are over-matched but it's just terrible to go through when your own team is playing WVU.

I'm not the one blaming the refs, so I don't have to "explain" anything. Every game is different, and the fact is WVU gets to the line alot, and draws a lot of fouls, that is their game. That isn't ISU's game at all, we don't draw a lot of fouls or get to the foul line alot.

Yeah, I understand that when a team never has 20 or fewer fouls the average can't be 20. So, like I said, if you take out last night's outlier it is not 20. Last night is the whole point we're arguing, so it doesn't make sense to include it in stats to help prove your point.

I understand home teams get calls. Just pointing out it's lazy to say ISU just shoots uumpers all day and that's why they don't get to the line

Look, this is circling down the toilet at mind bending speed. It's just plain dumb to complain about the refs, there's no point to it. Complain about having no bench. Complain about having no defense. Those are things that a team can control.

But you were fine with that explanation as to why Oklahoma only shot 7 free throws @ISU.

WV pressed the whole game, but had a season low number of fouls. The refs did have an impact on the style of play last night. That may have not caused us to lose the game, but it sure put us at a disadvantage.

Because that is more in line with the style of play at ISU. We aren't a physical team. We don't body up. Therefore, we should get less fouls. It's pretty simple. WVA dares the officials to call fouls. ISU doesn't. Yet we get more fouls.

Referees seem to even out the calls. But I wouldn't worry about that if I were you, you still have the Kansas mystique to help you out.

While I don't thing the officiating was great by any means - you give up nearly 100 pts in a 40 min game? Its, uh, not the refs that are the issue.
