Yep, he doesn't work well with others and will struggle in the corporate environment.
Tying to remember what happened to Saul at the end of breaking bad. Is he witness protection? I first wondered if that's why he didn't want cops around due to getting arrested. But the light switch changed that. I still couldn't remember what happened though.
At the end of BB, when Saul and Walter are waiting to go into hiding, Saul says, best case scenario, in a month he's managing a Cinnabon in Omaha.
I want to watch BB again to refresh my memory.
Pretty sure he went into hiding because the Cartels know he was helping Walter. He set up new identities for himself, Walter, and Jesse.
He doesn't want to get the cops involved in anything because they might dig a bit too far into his identity. He's also scared of the cartels finding him and killing him.
The way last season ended I really thought his character was going to start getting shady very quickly so I was surprised to see him actually accept that legitimate job and try and move forward. I'm probably wrong, but it looked like from the preview that his brother may continue to try and sabotage his efforts to be a legitimate lawyer.

Well he's trying to be a lawyer "for himself" and not just to make Chuck happy. I think he'll find that he can't handle being a cog in a big law firm. Something big is going to happen which becomes the trigger for him going on his own and becoming Saul Goodman.
I'm interested to find out what happens between Nacho and Daniel the IT guy criminal. Did Nacho find what he was looking for an put the couch back?
I think Talking Saul said that Investment guy was the guy in Breaking Bad who owned the car that Walt blew up at that gas station.
This series gets more fascinating every single week. Forget that it's a Breaking Bad prequel, it stands on its own legs. If Breaking Bad wasn't a thing this show would still be awesome (there would just be no context to a number of things on this show)
I don't think him taking the job is him trying to be legitimate. All episode he talked about doing what he wanted and taking the opportunities in front of him. He shows Kim what he means by conning the investment guy. He was then at the pool and saw another person he could con and wanted to involve Kim. So he called her and left a message. Then I think he realizes that the better con would be to take the job offer and do things that he wanted. I think that's why he orders the new desk and flips the switch when it said not to turn it off. He isn't going to be a legitimate lawyer. He's just going to use this new job as an opportunity to do more shady things.
I don't know if he's quite there yet. I think he took the job because he wants Kim to respect him. But I think he'll keep pushing the line.
I just meant that I thought he would go it alone completely and not take any job, even if it was just using the new job to get what he ultimately wants.
I think Chuck and Howard are going to try and screw Jimmy again. He was going to receive a percentage of the settlement from Sandpiper when he was on his own. I suspect now that he has joined the litigation team with the other firm, they might try to screw him out of a percentage of the settlement. He will freak, exact some revenge on both HHM and Davis&Main, and go full Saul.

Going to be fun to see what Mike does with the dumb drug peddler. You can tell he is not happy the dude showed up at the police station.
