More new coaches confirmed...

What I like is all these coaches are young and have all been with CMC for 4-5 years now..add on Ayeni and Golesh from Illinois and this staff is beginning to look like one heck of a recruiting staff that's for sure. We know how good a recruiter Ayeni is and Golesh was prob Illinois best recruiter as well. It is entirely possible too that the $$ for assistants has increased slightly too. I can see having a DL and DE(Eggen?) coaches.
It's definitely risky but I will take that over having a new coordinator every year like we've been doing for a while.
He's showing loyalty, these guys are just getting promoted with what I'm sure to be hefty raises.
Wasn't sure about all the Toledo coaches at first but warming up to them the more I read. If these are guys MC wants by his side day in and day out, I'm all for it. Can definitely see the advantage to keeping as much of a staff together as possible. These guys will be able to hit the ground running a lot faster and make the transition easier for everybody.
This is exactly right. I'm actually really glad he's bringing a lot of Toeldo coaches. It's not like these guys are 55 yrs old and been stuck at Toledo for 20 years..they are all very young and have all been together. Imagine if MC brought over just 2-3 guys and the other 7-8 he really doesn't know that well....doesn't know their coaching skills, developing skills, game prep etc..This is actually the right way to do it of you want to hit the ground running fast and want next year to not be a rebuilding year IMO. WTS..we will likely have 3-4 coaches that aren't from Toledo and I think that's enough.
I can see Toledo fans complaining about this, but a coherent staff that has worked together and had success is a huge plus for me.
In looking at CPR's staff, it does not look like Mark Mangino, Tommy Mangino, and Brandon Blaney were that effective in recruiting.
Louis Ayeni and Stan Eggen were getting a lot of our commits. And that included Texas. Shane Burnham was almost exclusively in Florida. Mo Linguist was in the South, mainly Georgia.
In looking at things, it appears to me that CMC's staff will be much more aggressive in the recruiting aspect. I liked how CMC's eyes lit up when he said, "I love recruiting. And our whole staff will recruit."
IMO, we are going to see a new aggressiveness and an approach where we will identify recruits who fit our profile and we will promote our "culture" at Iowa State aggressively.
if they're going outside to hire a coach, many of these coaches weren't likely to be retained anyway so I don't know why Toledo fans would be upset.
I think CMC bringing his people over is a really smart idea. It's the same game they've always been playing, just with better players (in the BigXII), which I'm sure they'll upgrade in short order, like TCU did when they first entered the conference.
I'm excited to see young faces in the coaching ranks here for the first time in forever. That alone will translate into better recruiting. Energy, opportunities, hope.

I think there are some grad assistants, the video guy, and some water boys that he left there. However, he did take the ice cube trays from the freezer.
Oh I don't know, maybe because we still have a game to play???
In all seriousness, this is exactly the blueprint that Pinkel used....not that the outcome is going to be the same mind you; but hire solid young coaches, and keep them together for years;
I agree that it's risky, but not unheardof or impossible to work out. Didn't Washington poach the entire staff from NDSU a couple seasons ago? As in, they wanted their HC and he just brought the whole crew with?
Doesnt bother me. At least we know if he is hiring his buddies, they can at least win games. Chizek type of overall scares me a little.
Some downside to buying the Toledo group, but I think this is the best FIRST move for getting things off to a fast start. We have a decent team next year that will be working with a new staff, so there is a benefit for the staff to already have continuity. It also helps in filling out recruiting classes in a transition year(s).

I have always thought you could hire IN FIELD recruiters who know the local high schools/coaches. GIve em T&E monies/salary with marching orders to get potential recruits to Ames. Leave the closings to the ISU FB staff.
