The "impermissible" benefits were for food and some clothes from the guardian while the paperwork was being filled out. Totaling 165 dollars.
The hold up on this had NOTHING to do with that though, it was all academic and why KU spent over 100K looking into it.
But you guys dont bother to actually look into the facts of the case at all. The NCAA never once visited ONSA, never once talked to the guardian even though he requested to be interviewed, never bothered telling KU, Diallo OR the school in question anything. KU spent money on an independent group to investigate Diallo's course work, which they said was HS level legitimate work.
Despite months and months of repeated appeals to find out where in the process they were, the NCAA failed to respond to KU and it was only when KU went public with the gross incompetence of the NCAA that they came up with this bogus impermissible benefits ********.
This was also happening to Yakwe at St. Johns and magically he also gets cleared under much less fan fare on the same day also having to "pay back" like 140 bucks.
GMAFB. Diallo wasnt cheating, he wasnt taking anything extra, this was the only way the NCAA could save face for their gross incompetence and Self even called them on it saying something to the effect that "Im glad Diallo is cleared to play but I disagree with he content of the NCAAs statement. This was always about academics".
