@AlexHalsted @ThatD1Boi i'm 99% sure that Ashton was awarded a scholarship. That's what I heard from someone at Kirkwood who would know

Halsted's reply

@dlstwit @ThatD1Boi Heard rumblings but Iowa State never made anything official. Prohm said Wednesday two scholarships to fill (3 w/ Monte).

Yet TJ said one on Friday. Interesting.

We landed Ashford too!?!

...who is Ashford?

Apparently too stupid to wonder why we'd not recruit potential talent now just to hold a scholarship for a transfer that may or may not become available and then may or may not pick us.

If true I'm surprised Halstead, Hines, or Chris hasn't mentioned anything about this.

When I asked Halsted tonight he too said he was unaware of this and that he isn't on scolly.

Because it effects how many scholarships we have to give out to 2016 recruits.
I think the only reason Ashton may have a scholly this season is we had extra and grad transfers are out of the picture. It doesn't seem likely he'll have one next season. He was a walkon after all.

Prohm said in his signing day interview that they have 2 more to give, possibly 3 if Morris leaves.

He clearly said they want to find 2 forwards, and either a PG or a Combo.

To me that says that it's a one year agreement with Ashton. It was laying around. In fact they had two, so why not let Ashton go to school for free for a year, to reward his hard work?

Hopefully this guy signs today! He's a big body that we need.

Serious question: is Kostas actually still considered a target? I know people are constantly making jokes, but it's a legit question after that article and seeing that ISU is the leader.

Best player in Louisiana from old scout article, Cameron Lard:

http://www.scout.com/college/lsu/story/1507421-best-of-louisiana-basketball-class-of-2016?s=107

At 6-foot-9.5 and 215 pounds, Cameron Lard of Natchitoches Central is the best big man in the state, regardless of classification, and he gets my vote – as well as that of several coaches around the state polled – as the top junior in Louisiana. Lard was the Most Outstanding Player in the 5A state playoffs a year ago, when he led the Chiefs to the title. He's picked back up where he left off this season, and colleges continue to take notice. Lard is receiving interest from, among others, Kansas State,Baylor, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, New Mexico andTexas A&M.

I have no inside information but 75% Crystal Ball says ISU.

Does anyone have any updates about his visit? I noticed that we picked up a few crystal ball predictions on 247, which I know is worthless until about the day before they commit. I just think it's odd that a four star (on 247) power forward visits and there are no updates by anyone.

Seems like we don't get much info after unofficial visits.
