Honestly I don't know much about him. It's just the use of the word "president" instead of "presidency" is grating to me.

My guess: He's ending his campaign because he's out of money, so probably also to the point where he can only afford an unpaid college intern for the person who issues his press releases. Thus the poor grammar, which while everything is good enough to pass spell check, is still fail.
Watched the video. The Hurricane Hunters have some big cajones. That is also why the C-130 is nicknamed "Hercules".
It wasn't a press release. It was a video clip of him actually SAYING it, hence my use of the term "sound bite".
I saw the clip twice, on the 5 & 6pm news. I'll see if I can find the clip, but pretty sure he wasn't reading it off a xcript or prompter.

Well, I don't know about happier news, but a random change of topic...Mrs00 got a text from one of our marriage group at church friends earlier this week. Mid 50's couple who are raising their granddaughter, so our marriage events (with childcare provided) are their 'date nights'... really nice couple, and kinda going back to the confessions, probably a couple I would have formed a snap judgement on a few years ago..but we've gotten to know them, their granddaughter is little00's age (although they homeschool), so I'm pretty good at relating to her.
Anyway, the husband was having a birthday party at the Legion tonight. I ran up for a little while after dinner, but got home in time for bedtime stories. Ways I'm changing...a few years ago, I could've find a bunch of excuses to 'not like them', but they're good people, at their core, so I'm glad I'm getting to the point where I can just enjoy them.
