It's my home computer, and the geek squad has been working on it for about a week now. No luck. What has PapaLew so ticked off is the fact that if your car dies, you don't have to buy a brand new one...you can buy an older model for less money and still have it supported by the manufacturer. Cell phones & computers, though...they last one to three years then you have to buy a brand new one. I suppose I should feel greatful that I got nearly five years out of this one.

It is also my grandparents' 69th anniversary today. Hope they can make it another year.

(That was the joke)
you are going to have to buy a new one, but you should be able to buy a SATA to USB cable and plug that into your new computer to retrieve the data on it. You may not be able to get your bookmarks (if you never saved a backup of them) but you should be able to get everything else. The cord should cost $15 or so.Soooo...Tallperson...can you?
oh, for some reason I read it as your work computer but that makes more sense. Did you have the bookmarks saved in a browser? I use Chrome at both work and home and because I'm logged into Google, I can see the bookmarks in both locations.
As you get started again, I really like Google Drive for keeping all that stuff. I figure since it's just lists of trees we like, stuff we put into spreadsheets for the house and pics of random stuff............and no nudes, that it's safe from the likes of mctall and nude celebrity photo seekers.
Your jokes are bad and you should feel bad

Wow - impressive! PapaLew & I figure we can make it to fifty years...probably...but we'll both be 90. To get to 69, we'd have to reach 109. Noooooooot gonna happen!
(Just observing)
69 hehe
