I don't think it's quite there yet. The end of Walden ~ SMU death penalty - we went 22 years between bowl games, SMU 25.
I do think it was telling that the NCAA didn't want to give Penn State the death penalty... because they didn't want them to suffer like Iowa State fans have.
Baylor could win 100-0 and JP wouldn't fire him - Rhoads is "his guy". It will take Leath and/or donors making the decision for Pollard, and if that happens, it won't be until the end of the season - and if it comes to that Pollard may be going out the door with him.
I agree. I think we get a McDermott type win at the end of a crappy season when he won at #5 Kansas State. Unlike that though, it won't even be to a ranked team, but it will be sold like gold.I think we might win one more game, and that will be sold like gold.
I know most people don't believe we are winning any more games. But even giving us a 15% chance to win in each of these 4 games - KSU, Texas, OSU and WV means there is approximately a 50% chance we win at least one of those games.
except there will be a lot of people still going to games next year after they get sold on optimism. Pretty confident CPR will be here next year.
Absolutely. It's kinda sad that we have to worry about him being here next year, but I do think there is a small chance. If nothing is done after this year, we need to take a serious look at pollard then.

Umm. You can't add those odds together to get a greater probability.
I think you are understating how bad it was at the end of the Walden era. We didn't have a full complement of scholarship players, and the players that we had would have been hard pressed to fill a IAA roster. We had Troy Davis... riding the bench and not on the field. The field was freaking 20 year old astroturf that made as many tackles against our players as the defense did. The facilities were basically unchanged since the 70's at that point and showed it.
Everything you say is true. Yet we continue to lose, even with better facilities and players. That is on the coaches and administration.
There is still no hope to win unless we are playing the bottom tier teams, and even then there is a very real chance we will lose. Feels an awful lot like the gameday experience in 1994.
Pollard is cheap because Cyclone fans are cheap. If we had a big number of donors lined up, this wouldn't be an issue.
People that complain about CPR's salary being so high better realize he generally finishes in the same spot in both W-L and pay.
