Sioux Falls is too much of a haul for me, but if I manage to snag tickets to a game in Ames, I'd be willing to meet up with RT people.

Omaha to SF is only about 10mi more than Omaha to Ames. But I guess it depends on which area of Omaha you are coming out of. (Forgive me if you aren't in Omaha, I thought you moved there while I was out). Straight interstate for both trips. :)

Yeah, but it's perception, as well...the trip to Ames, you end up in Ames. The trip to SF, you end up in South Dakota.

All I know is the IL's make the Omaha trip from SF a lot (FIL's only sister lives there). They make the 4hr trip to Ames from SF (that trip is a long/boring haul) maybe twice a year. That is both good and bad.

I didn't realize it was so close on distance. Google says about 15 miles closer for Ames....and that means I can go to Hickory Park/West Street/Welch Ave instead of being in South Dakota. Plus, Hilton Magic.

I'm being asked to finish something for someone else because the person they want to help them is trying to do their own stuff before leaving today for an appointment. I'm really tempted to point out that I saw appointment person arrive at the office just after 10am. Like whatever, I'm fine helping this other person out. Just want to roll my eyes a little.

I don't care if you're a cat lover or a dog lover - this cracked me up! Looks a lot like a Thanksgiving dinner at our place...

Lost my dog this morning. I let her out and then went back to sleep. I woke up a couple hours later and she was gone. She either jumped the fence or crawled under it in a spot I thought I had patched up well, but apparently not. It's kind of surprising because she doesn't like jumping over or crawling under things. But, I guess if there was a squirrel or something she really wanted to get...

I called the local shelters and drove around the neighborhood. I left her bed and food/water at the front door. I'm going to make some flyers this afternoon and put them up in the neighborhood and hope for the best.

Dang that sucks. Hopefully she'll wander home.

I'm sorry to hear that, hope she makes it home to you.

Hopefully she comes back. Our golden thinks everyone wants to say hi to him so he is required to be in the backyard (doesn't jump) or on a chain in front.

The benefit is he is bigger so he doesn't fit through small holes. Growing up we had a miniature poodle. My parents have a gap in the fence between the house and post and he would fit through there. One time he got out and we didn't know. Mom and I go looking for him and after about 20 minutes I find him in the neighbors backyard just standing there staring at me. He got in but apparently couldn't get out. Didn't bother to bark or anything.

Boooooooo...

Lost a couple of dogs for three days way back in my early twenties...ex took them hunting (a Brit & a Springer), and they decided to take off. They managed to find a logging operation and the men snagged Lady, the Springer (she was more friendly) but Butch (the Brit) wouldn't let them near him. Fortunately Lady had a tag. The loggers called us, and when we went out to their camp ol' Butch jumped in my lap as I was opening the car door. He was VERY ready to come home...Lady used to get him in all sorts of trouble.

more annoyances. We have a weekly meeting for something (which is good because for a long time it needed to happen and wasn't) but person running it has cancelled it three times now in the past oh, 6 weeks. Not for last minute things. For like, known things - other things going on, bigger meetings related to the project happening, whatever. But they don't cancel the meeting literally until everyone is logged on and ready to go. Come on, you knew days ago we weren't going to have this meeting. So don't wait until we are waiting for you to talk to send the cancellation.

This has happened three times now. I think the next time I suspect we aren't going to have the meeting, I'm going to send them an email asking if we are and make it clear that yeah, I'd like to be able to clear that spot in my schedule ahead of time then.
