Okay 95% of the time I am just goofin’ here but here’s a 5% departure. It’s my mother’s birthday today and I just got a big case of the blubbery feels when checking in on Facebook and saw this posted along with a 20-year old old picture of my mother and her friend.

We've changed a lot since then but our friendship hasn't. Happy birthday bff.

My mother has been in a semi-vegetative state for a number of years and this awesome friend of hers pretty much goes and visits her every day even though I am positive my mother has no idea she or any of us are there. She really is my mom’s bff.

Wow, I hope to have as good of friends as that as I age....

Pants has a sore throat and maybe a fever. Odds if getting him to buy/take medicine?

Sounds like TB. Fever is a symptom. Sore throat is probably an unrelated outlier.

Option #1: I'd check out flights to Molokai, he needs to be isolated on the colony.

Option #2: Try treating with baby pineapples.

Pants in Christopher Walken voice: "I got a fever, and the only cure, is more nickels"

Thumbs up for the Molokai reference.

Don't worry guys, I'll be fine. Fever is gone, just got the sore throat. Will probably buy some lozenges for it. But first probably going to get Nickels her birthday cupcake.

Webmd says anthrax or meningitis. Pants, it was nice knowing you

Been doing all kinds of things at home today. Pretty productive day.

Not my brightest moment: went to spray a wasp nest outside and right after I sprayed it one of the wasps survived and started chasing me. I ran as fast as I could, entered through the open garage, and closed the door behind me. Gave myself a minute or two to regroup and, as I was opening the door to go back out, I noticed that I had locked the door. As if I needed to lock it to prevent the wasp from following me inside the house.

Can't believe that in my panic I actually took the time to lock the door behind me. Luckily, no witnesses.

I hear wasps are kind of like raptors. Probably a smart move to lock it.

Rode bike today wearing Cyclone bikey jersey. Got one "Go Cyclones" and one "Cyclones?". The second was from an older couple at Lake Calhoun. Turns out their granddaughter just graduated from ISU so we ended up chatting about ISU and job prospects for grads (they were all worried grand parental units about her getting a good job) etc.
Bottom line, no impacts from ****** football program. Who would have thought!

Avoidance is a common coping mechanism, especially when you're around strangers.
