Well, don't forget, with UT going off on the refs because of their last game, don't be surprised if they use the ISU game as a make up for that one.

KU and maybe KSU. I really don't know what folks have been watching when it comes to UT; they can score points. Lots of them. Our defense may be improved but our offense has not shown that they can keep up with anyone that is capable of 30+ points per game. Our current best in regulation is what? 24 points during the UNI game? I'll believe we play with UT when I see it but until then I think we end up 2-10 or 3-9.

Wouldn't it be ironic if CPR'S last win came against KSU....

Typically I would say PR has never and will never beat KSU (especially in Manhattan) but it would be such an Iowa State move that I could see it.

I'd be curious to see what our defense can do now that we are in Big 12 play. The reason for switching to a three man front was to have more people back for pass coverage, which is a staple of the conference. If this works out, we may be able to compete and win among st those middle of the road Big 12 teams and win.

If the defense works out like it should, I think we can get 3-4 wins in conference.

I could see it too if he were to get fired in the middle of the week and the team just plays fired up and out of their minds.

We better get 1, an outside chance at 2. If we don't have 1 by Sunday I reserve the right to change my prediction to 0 from now until the sun explodes.

I was hoping a win against Tech could be in the cards, but if they play against ISU like they did against TCU we'll go down by 40. We just don't seem to be able to, or want to, open up the offense like it would take to score with them.

Has anyone considered the reason why things don't get opened up more? Perhaps it is because we do not have a QB that can handle it. Our QB struggles with what we do now. OL does not help either for the running game. Pass blocking has been just fine. Don't bring up sacks because a lot of those are on the QB, not the OL.

Or what? Ultimately it'd be good news, JP couldn't possibly keep this regime after a KU loss...right???

You're probably right...and that's bad.

I'll say 2 conference wins.

I'm probably dreaming here, but if Sam could get the monkey off his back with the whole winless as a starter in big12 play then this team might surprise us towards the end of the year. But even if they finish 2-10, I would hope Pollard keeps Rhoads. This program has been slammed with injuries the last two seasons. It's probably more risky to go out and find a coach that would succeed and stay for a while then to give Rhoads more time with healthy players. That is unless they lose to Kansas, then pull the freakin' trigger, Pollard.

The McDermott special.
