Curious what would give you that impression?
One of the old guys who played for texas, and is now a huge donor said.something a long the lines of he'd be a good coordinator. Not a head coach.

What's wrong with Jesus??
So coaches can't got to jobs because they want to make more money AND have a better shot at winning a championship? They can only choose one? Am I understanding this thread correctly?
I agree. Just like any major life decisions there are probably a multitude of factors.No. One guy said that he was chasing the money and that money was the reason that coaches go for these top jobs. Many have just tried to clear it up that money is a factore but generally it is about a lot more than money.

For starters I don't really think he is that into sports, at all.
Uneducated in assuming that a Central Arkansas Grad with no ties to Texas whatsoever would just be kicking in the door for some Texas tradition? Please. You can name call all you want, but at the end of the day, money was definitely a big part of it.
Okay Harris lets not start a holy war here.he can't hit a curveball
Money is a big part of every single job. Is Steve Prohm a money chaser? Was Fred Hoiberg a money chaser?
Typically calling someone a money chaser implies they'd have little to no other reason to take the job other than the money.

What I find amazing is that somebody can say with absolute certainty they know a coach's motivation when choosing to go to a new school.
For some, it might be $$, for others it might be nat'l championship pursuit, some might want to impact the lives of their student athletes.
Any of us pretending we know each coach's specific motivation is incredibly arrogant and narcissistic!

I think in the context of the Texas situation, its a fair take. Mac Brown left a tire fire behind. For a man like Charlie to leave a good thing at Louisville, having no ties to Texas, to try and fix that mess, while a great shot to prove something, is equal parts foolish and money chasing. Of course there are career implications, but THAT particular scenario at Texas had bad news written on it.
Steve was the worst kind of skinflint. He stole bennies from everyone.Message boards as a whole are somewhat arrogant and narcissistic. The guys running it make the money, the rest of us talk because we have opinions we like to share as if any of us are right or anyone else cares to hear it.

Names: Greg Byrne (AZ), John Currie (K-State), Chris Del Conte (TCU), Jeff Long (Arkansas) … and oh yeah, remember Oliver Luck (NCAA).
Pretty remarkable, but if Currie goes to UT, which wouldn't surprise me a tad, that would make four K-Staters running 10 programs - UT, K-State, Ku and TTech.
