Facades = cost without function. Iowa State can't afford to be spending money only on looks.
I know, but this thread says "dreaming" in the title.

Honestly we probably dont see many seats added for a long time.
This project makes sense because 3000 of the seats are premium. Is there demand for another couple thousand of those? No. Similarly you wouldnt do a 3rd deck as those seats also would be fairly worthless. Plus i imagine any NEZ project would be much more expensive with needing 1- demolition of a much larger existing structure, 2- replacement of that facility, 3- whatever new seating\club section youre adding. If you think it took long to do the SEZ, it'll be longer for this.
As far as press box goes... everyone says it, but there are a lot of obstacles to that. Firstly, how do you support it? You cant just hang it off the existing one, and the place where supports would go for additional sections of that now has concessions buildings there. And again, is there demand? We have a smaller press box, but we make up for that by having a nice slate of suites (which are what 'press boxes' really are these days) in between the decks.
or even 9-3Wow! Pretty sure that stadium needs consistent 9-2 or better teams.
I know for a fact that from a media standpoint the pressbox is subpar. In terms of demand for more suites I can't speak to that.

REDO....Where do the players enter the field? :spinny:
That's the spirit! All I'm asking people is to dream a little.

So what would capacity be for something like this? Close to 70K?
Based on what JP said in his interview with CW and with all the marketing efforts towards younger fans I would imagine they would like to keep the "family friendly" atmosphere for football games. A big part of this is having the hillsides open to the Jr. Cyclone Club kids and their parents in the North End Zone. I just don't see JP or the athletic department wanting to get rid of those hillsides any time in the near future, there are other more important projects to take care of.
