This morning, JP tweeted: UNI returned tix they are not using. We have < 600 left for home opener. Iowa game is officially sold-out. Help sell-out home opener too!

I'm guessing UNI fans bought the mini-pack so they could see their favorite team and a UNI game too.

If they were smart, this is what they did.
Even if they have no desire to go to the Iowa-ISU game that'd be the smart call. Buy it for the UNI game then sell off Iowa and the other game, end up going to the UNI game for free or maybe even make a small profit.

And those mini-pack tickets arent really much worse than the visitors section to begin with (actually id take the upper deck in the bowl over their corner section).

I know tons of UNI fans that did the mini-pack with the intention of selling Iowa and TCU. Problem is there are going to be a ton of tickets on the secondary market and they'll be lucky to break even...

I doubt it as the cheapest ticket I see on StubHub for the Iowa game is $135. If UNI fans really were trying to sell their other two tickets the Iowa game alone should make their money back.

I doubt that many will sell Hawk tickets. However, if they bought Texas as the third game, that would probably be easy to sell.

Huh. So much for UNI fans coming to the game in droves?

How can the Purple Squawks be in Ames when they are in Iowa City watching the real squawkeyes play.

When I get in a parking lot and see a lot of purple squawk emblems on a vehicle I always look for they squawk emblem and always see them on the vehicle

Just ask a Purple Hawk......How many real squawk games to you attend?...................

FBS teams have to cover a minimum ticket allotment for bowl games, and I think the FCS schools should be obligated to buy out their ticket allotment on the road at an FBS school. This is especially true for UNI, given Ames is in their own back yard. They whine and moan to high heaven about having lost their games at EIU, so they had better show some appreciation for being handed an opportunity to play at The Jack. ISU is going to bat for them. These games protect their program from financial ruin, so they need to wake up and smell the coffee. As far as I am concerned, if their local fan base cannot buy out their allotment, UNI should just be dropped from the schedule permanently.

This post had a distinct level of stupid to it, but it was also LOL inducing. Hmmmm....
