No pics I would guess more seed. otherwise weeds will be there long before grass.

it sounds like because it's later in the season, we're better off than spring, but we'll probably get some extra seed to sprinkle on the spots that had more water.

Speaking of biking...bikers...what's the rules of the road for a vehicle passing a bicycle that's on a paved shoulder (not a full lane paved, maybe 5-6 feet)? I generally try to treat a bike as if it's a vehicle, giving a lane, or a least the better part of one, but I'll admit that when faced with oncoming traffic, I've passed without moving over much, but in those cases, I slow wayy down to like 35-45 instead of 60.

Today, I was southbound on a state highway, a train of bikers headed northbound. I wasn't surprised when a few people basically passed them doing 60 without getting over, but I was surprised that this also included a sherriff's deputy. I mean, he may have slowed down to 50-55, but it was essentially just a brake tap and right on by.

With oncoming traffic I'm happy with whatever they can safely give up. The ones that make me mad are the ones that give you 18" of space when it's clear for the next 3 miles. Last Sun. somebody with a long horse trailer did this and I swore up a blue streak and was flipping them off. Next thing I know another one is passing and he gave me lots of room. Pretty sure they had a good laugh about that.

So I sent a standard job interview thank you letter and in the response from the person I interviewed with she says this. You are most welcome. You should hear from me by Tuesday regarding next steps.

What do people interpret this to mean?

I would assume a 2nd interview, job shadow type of thing.

It's good you sent a thank you. We've interviewed probably 10 kids right out of college and I think two have sent a thank you letter. Wtf. Isn't that standard knowledge?

I always send thank yous even when I get to the interview and hear more about the job and realize I don't want it. That's an hour of someone's time.

To tag onto WDSM's comments...

If it's a job where there would be a 2nd interview, you're either definitely in the group that will come in, or definitely not.

If it's a job where there wouldn't be a 2nd round, you're either the guy, or definitely not the guy.

In both cases, I'd suggest by the term 'next steps', that it's the positive side, but I'd leave a small possibility in there, if it's a company that's a good sue target (large company/org) that they've taught their people to use 'next steps' as a generic term for everyone. Again, though, I'd lean towards the positive side.

I say it's definitive one way or another because if it'll be out to you on Tuesday of next steps, it's pretty well settled at this point...or maybe they have one more interview on Monday, but it's settled other than that. If it's no 2nd interview, if you were like a 2nd or 3rd choice, I'd say they wouldn't be so definitive of saying Tuesday, because if they get an offer out to someone, it takes a few days sometimes. (with the caveat that I don't know the timeline up to this point, perhaps they have an offer out with a deadline of Monday to someone else).

I would be cautiously optimistic...don't go buy a bottle of bubbly yet, but maybe start looking to see if anyone's got any on sale...

I'm guessing they will let you know if you get a 2nd interview by Tues. Good luck on the process if it's something you want.

I'm just gonna not worry about it till tuesday I guess. The person who interviewed me was the one who urged me to apply though and runs the organization.

sprinkler set up wasn't as bad as it could have been. we had a decent breeze and it got better as the sun got lower.

How common are multiple interviews. The only time I have had multiple was when I would have to travel to get there for an interview. So I had a phone interview then went in for one.

fairly certain when DH changed jobs he had multiple interviews on everything. But he's an engineery person so one of them was usually a technical skills thing.

I'm glad they didn't give me one of those when I interviewed for the internship that turned into my job. I was not entirely honest about my Excel experience. Though they just said "do you have experience" and I decided well they didn't say how much experience.....

it worked out though.

I've only worked with one company since I graduated, but we have a HR person conduct a phone interview. If she likes the person we bring them in for an in person interview and if we like the person from there, we will go ahead and bring that person back in for a job shadow type of thing for a half day and see how the person interacts and try to get a better read on them.

Wdsm, I was in town to help with your hamstring problem. Couldn't find you so pants and I hung out instead.
