How freaking hard is it to spell my name correctly? Especially when it is spelled in the email you just responded to.....

Also, it really sucks not having working AC these last few nights.

super hard. Someone called me Helena once.

I understand your pain.

If you are one of those people whose parents took a normal name and made it 'unique' by effing up the spelling of it...I would probably misspell it on purpose. Like, people who wanted their kid to be named 'chris' but spelled it chryss.

My name is Luke, like legally Luke. People still call me Lucas and get legitimately upset when I don't respond to an unfamiliar name.

BFF had the opposite. She's Elizabeth and one prof at ISU always called her Liz. I didn't realize he was talking to her the first several times I heard it. Liz? Liz who?

Like I'm not even doing it to like make the point my name isn't Lucas, there's just no connection between my brain and me being Lucas.

My name has 3 or 4 different ways to spell it, but I wouldnt say its 'unique'

Yeah, I'm only really talking about the intentionally weird spellings. If it's a normal, but several different accepted spellings, then I do my diligence to make sure to use the correct on out of common decency to the person.

Need to go back with little wxman some day. First time we took the kids to DC, the then five year old did nothing but whine until he could see dinosaur bones and we had even stopped in Pittsburgh to see them on the way.

I am assuming you got to the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson before you left Wichita? We got there when it opened for the day and needed more time.

Oh we will. My wife enjoys airplanes as well so I won't have to drag her.

We never got up to the Cosmosphere sadly but did go to the Kansas Aviation Museum which is cool.

Speaking of names, I can't believe I can't find my name on a bottle of Coke. There are some names I have found 2 different ways of saying it i.e. Matt / Matthew.

Just look in a mirror and you'll know :jimlad:

so your airlines thread reminded me of this kid from college. I was at a conference during with some other students (they were more into the party side of it, I was newly graduated and mostly there to accept an award...and fun too)

anywhoodles, one of the guys in the group was really into getting the hotel rewards. Like super duper. He didn't like the drinking part so while the other guys in the room drank one night, he sat on the bed in pajamas reading aloud from the Bible.

One of the guys got weed at some point (I had nothing to do this and probably would have tried to shut it down even though I guess this was in CO) and rewards kid got a room at a different hotel. He mentioned he had a rewards card for them too.

Cool story bro, I know. But your post made me think of that again.
