Random Thoughts IV

Hit my pipe dream goal of 9 min average pace during my 15k race yesterday. Wasn't so thrilled about the 3.5 hour drive back home in heavy Sunday traffic. I think that made me more tired than the race.

My oldest usually would sleep until 8 or 9 if he could...this morning he got up to go to the bathroom at 5:30, comes into our room at 5:40 ready to get up. Yeah, I think he's excited for VBS.

Don't forget your costume!

LOL....all I have to remember is my T-shirt, bandana that makes me look like Jake of the neverland pirates fame, and sandals...my tunic will be provided upon arrival.

This is going to be a long week...essentially 8-11 at VBS, then quick nap and turn around and back to work until midnight.

Today is my one year singleversary. I feel like I should celebrate with ice cream and bad chick flicks.

Do you prefer second shift over third shift? I always thought second would be the worst of the three, but I've got a buddy that works third that is desperately trying to get on seconds instead.

I would buy some shoes too. Hope it goes well. Son's roommate was supposed to get married this summer until she dumped him for another guy. Poor kid was having a great day and hadn't even remembered it was supposed to be his wedding day until his mom called all worried about him. I try to remember this when I worry about my adult boys, but I am a hopeless worrier.

Best thing that will ever have happened to him.

Yep. I think he finally understands that. All of his friends couldn't stand her, she whined constantly, had him "help" with all of her homework, and leeched money like there was no tomorrow. Son was supposed to be best man. He has resisted urge to tell him how much he hates her, just in case they ever get back together.

I think 55 should watch a good chick flick with some champagne and maybe save the ice cream for later. So, boys and girls, make some recommendations so she doesn't sit through 2 hours of something really awful. List attached for your reference. The Official Movie of RT is #3.

That picture of Rachel McAdams in #1, tho! And totally in context with 2015's wet hair topic.

Second stinks with family, but other'n that, I'd rather have that then 3rd. First, you don't sleep right on 3rd, so you end up a zombie. Then weekends... do you stay on that schedule, or switch and switch back? Second, there are people on 3rd that stay there for a reason...they hate people and want to interact with them as little as possible. I could see myself going back to second after the kids are gone...you can get a lot done in the morning, but I'd look for a different job before I voluntarily went to 3rd. Others are different, tho.
