Random Thoughts IV

Unless they're Beats, which I imagine are ****** bag magnets wherein they feel the need to strike up a conversation with a lady who also appreciates fine music like themselves.

Not beats, just some wireless headphones with good reviews on Amazon. I think bluedio is the brand.

I wear headphones pretty much all the time in public. I don't want anyone to have any false pretenses about me wanting to talk to them.

Same person has cut my hair for probably 8-10 yrs. We catch up whenever I get a haircut. So I guess I'm in the visiting group instead of the ignore me group.

I get that some people want to talk. That's fine. But when all of my responses are friendly, yet short, take the hint.

I think they do it in thinking they might get a tip which I don't do for a haircut. Only haircut I get it a buzz cut all over nothing hard about it.

I tip, and I tip well, but I do that with most services. Unless you **** my hair up. Or talk too much. I still tip if you talk too much, but it goes down.

I enjoy some small talk, but sometimes it feels like an interrogation when you get the awkward ones.

I try to plan on going when I know the 2-3 people that I enjoy will be working.

I get that. Because it's practically a friendship. But I rarely have the same person.

I've been on both sides of the fence...and really, you gotta find someone regular. Especially with the chain places, you never know what you're gonna get.

As I mentioned, Mrs. 00clone does mine, since it's just a 1-1/2 guard all over, but we take the kiddos to the local barbershop, and everyone in the place is in one big conversation. Generally revolving around how cute our kids are.

when I started getting my hair cut up here, I was like NWICY in that I'd had the same 1-2 people most of my life. I wasn't looking for a bestie, but someone who could chat for 20-30 minutes comfortably. Now, I'm better socially now than I was then, but the first person I tried here was awful. Just super awkward. I made one or two comments that clearly left openings for more discussion and nada. Super awkward silence. So I changed to a different salon, and while that lady seems kinda quiet like me, it's a comfortable silence. Been going to her for just about five years now. We chat a bit about random stuff which is nice.

00, I don't think ours had the red power decal.

Yeah, but do you tip Mrs.00?

Last time I got my hair cut, spent the whole time listening to the woman vent nonstop about a co-worker who didn't show up to work, a boss who did nothing about it, and an appointment who stiffed her. I just agreed occasionally and threw out a few sympathetic "what a biotch" comments cause what with the rage and the sharp things in her hand, I just was praying to survive. Amazingly, she did a pretty decent job on my hair.

This one today was a super tall Asian chick that spoke very, very poor English and cut her finger with her scissors and proceeded to show it to me over and over before going to get it cleaned up.
