depends on the time of year you stop by. We could make you bale straw, that's not as bad. Feeding calves is always pretty fun, but you don't get the hose. Everyone I ever let have the hose (friend and DH in boyfriend form) thought it fun to spray at CG.

So I get to get drunk with CG and spray her with a hose? I'm in. Can we squeeze this in for when I'm home next month?

And I gotta be honest...while I'd probably not be interested in farming myself...baling hay days...if it wasn't too hot...end of the day, sitting on grandma's lawn eating a cold cut sandwich and drinking some odd pop like Orange or Grape crush, with that feeling of accomplishment after all the loose hay was swept up and the whole extended family was sitting around watching the sun go down...knowing you were going to be sore in the morning, but knowing it was because you were actually doing something worthwhile...that's a cherished memory for me.

Worst part of baling?

The shower afterwards.

Thats a memory I will have forever that will never be cherished.

I'd probably have felt that way if we didn't have to milk as soon as we got done, ha. I know what you're talking about though.

taking off your shoes and socks outside and making a little hay pile. Another from your sports bra, though I suppose you never experienced that.

You can get that same feeling mowing a couple of acres on a riding lawn mower.

8 track players?! So it's just like a modern day tractor?!

Oh, the best part was the International promotional 8 track tapes you'd find stuffed behind the seat...bragging up their cab with doors on both sides (John Deere at the time only had them coming out the "driver's" side, detailing the benefits of the "Torque Amplifier" feature on the new '86 series of tractors, etc. interspersed with various country songs.

(I should have been more precise before, the tractors we baled with would have all been straight International...CaseIH didn't come along until later)
