I'm reading a building forum and there's a thread about "what would you have done differently"

so far the most common regret is not specifying a timeline and end date from their builder in their contract. I'm sorry, I've "built" exactly 99% of one house. But that seems like basic freaking common sense, right? To have an end date in the contract? Are these people stupid? That's not like "well I didn't know we needed to think about outlet placement" (which surprisingly, is pretty much all regulated where they need to be anyway) this is like a basic freaking thing you would want to know. At least I would think.
