hiphop's cake turned out pretty awesome

It turned out great...it was just about spot on.

I'm still holding out hope he'll bring me a slice (or at least one of the cupcakes)... ;)

Make this happen, Hopp!

I still occasionally say "parental unit" and just get WTF stares back at me. Same thing with "consume massive quantities" or "we are from France" with appropriate alien accent.

We do this with our parents, since there's 3 sets. (Husband's are divorced/both remarried) I think we've only referred to my parents as this in front of them...they got a kick out of it.

That actually sounds even better.

One of you gif wizards need to bust out the Elaine dance from Seinfeld here.

BTW, the pain felt when you catch the back of your ankle on the edge of a wooden stair is unequaled.

I'm still feeling it half an hour later.

I can always count on Sara to come through.

Working tonight, but it'll be a slow night, so lots o' sitting at my desk programming...so by extension, bored.

In church today, it was the feast of Corpus Christi, or the feast of the body and blood of ******, which is only important here in the fact that they marched the Eucharist around the church at the end of the mass, led by the Knights of Columbus all decked out...for the non-catholics...like this:

So they walk by us, and 2.5 YO leans over and asks mom in his normal speaking voice "Are those guys pirates?"

throwing out stuff in the "health" drawer. Don't think we need Walmart brand Pepto-Bismol that expired in 2003. Pretty sure DH took it to college. But even then it would have been expired by three years.

Though what do you guys think about stuff like brownie/cake mixes that expired more than a year ago? Still good?

Sometimes they bake up okay...most times they don't turn out quite right...nothing you can put a finger on, just "off".

Risk/reward onnat...sure it might not be bad, or even lesser quality, but for $2, you can buy a new one in the new house, and also not have to pack/carry a $2 cake mix. ****, during the last move, I threw away good stuff rather than pack/move it.

You make that **** now. How the hell do you let that happen with brownie mix?! Don't you buy brownie mix specifically thinking "I'm going to make brownies today"?

DH wanted them, I think. I never make brownies. And then he never made them either.

I do have a treat day at work next week and I'm weighing the risk reward on that. But I'll probably toss cause I think KC is right. Sometimes it just tastes old.
