Head coaches are almost always going to vouch for an assistant of their's.
Who did Fred vouch for?

Gregg Marshall would the be the splashiest of splash hires you could get right now. I'm actually fantasizing about how bad*** this would be. KU would hate our guts BIG TIME.
Let's hire whoever Wisconsin plans on hiring in 3 years. Problem solved.
I like this. Does anybody have a time machine?
TJ Otzelberger it is, then.
There's a mod forum? Where you talk about super-secret stuff?Don't know. We've been pulling his toenails off in the mod forum and he won't talk.
Would it be allowable for a potential coach to ask their players if they would plan on going with them if they moved to Iowa State, and for ISU to ask the coach of this at the interview?
It'd be like the yin to the Matt A/DWilliams yang.
Edit: Hey, Murray St. signed a guy named Bryce Jones for 2015.
hahahaha...I see Cyclone Insiders on Twitter is our version of the Dude from West Virginia. If you don't follow me let me enlighten you on their brilliant twitter strategy:
"Post random crap, use the word "source" and claim to know someone knowing full well anyone worth a damn in the athletic department won't say anything to just anyone that isn't reputable." Seems like a legit strat.
No HC experience. Do not want.Breaking: Per source Lebron James has retired from the NBA prior to the NBA Finals and has reached out to Iowa State AD Jamie Pollard about the coaching vacancy.

He is one heck of a recruiter. Just look at what he did with the Heat.
I question your sources on the lack of HC experience. Who do you think was coaching the Cavs this season?
Losing Hoiberg made everyone go insane on here (as if they weren't already). These conversations are almost as pointless/entertaining as the ones from a week or two ago when jsb had her meltdown going.
All jokes aside, Jackie Moon would fill both voids on the team currently. Provide immediate front court depth while simultaneously filling the coaching void.

FAIL!
Maybe it's the pessimist in me - but I'd suspect that because of the timing of this, we'd likely be "out-of-luck." I certainly do not begrudge Fred in his decision to leave but, man, it just seems like that the timing is "par for the course." If it had been possible for him to announce his leaving in April, we possibly could have had a much better chance at landing a coach who could bring in some some of his recruits.Would it be allowable for a potential coach to ask their players if they would plan on going with them if they moved to Iowa State, and for ISU to ask the coach of this at the interview?

As long as we can get a commitment from his 10 year old kid, I'm down.
