Side note: all of the phones just went off in the house for an Amber Alert. As they were all chirping away, I said, "Oh great there it is....Fred's gone". I just couldn't help myself.:spinny:

Not sure if Amber Alert and :spinny: should be in the same post...

No, I didn't mean the Amber Alert was for Fred (although I see how you saw that), I actually thought it was weather related, I just thought it would be funny if Fred's announcement came to us all this way.

Ya'll are going to like this. Just received an email stating that today marks the beginning of the season ticket renewal for MBB. Great timing athletic department. Get all you can before the crap hits the fan.

Under the current situation the "crap hits the fan" phrase has new meaning. Can we get some artwork?

Just got this as well, and rolled my eyes. Who would actually submit a request now before knowing what is going to happen.

The same people that had season tickets before Hoiberg. Even if Hoiberg leaves, Cyclone basketball isn't dead.

Like Hootie and the Blowfish sang so many years ago....

I'm such a baby, yeah
The Cyclones make me cry...
Well there's nothing I can do

Column from CBS' Gary Parrish:

Pollard will, when the time comes, have a good idea of which direction he'd like to turn. And though there's nothing ideal about replacing an iconic college basketball coach in a warm-weather month, the good news is that Pollard will have something to offer few ADs have ever been able to offer. That something is a preseason top 10 team.
Iowa State is fifth in the Ridiculously Early Preseason Top 25 (and one), which suggests the Cyclones will be in the top 10 when the AP and Coaches polls are released in October. Assuming Hoiberg leaves, that's what he'll be leaving behind. And because the deadline for underclassmen to enter the NBA Draft has passed, it's safe to assume Iowa State's next head coach will inherit one of the best rosters any college coach has ever inherited.
That's not hyperbole, by the way.

I'm still renewing. The timing is odd, but they announced last week that renewals were starting today, so it's not like they made some incompetent bizarro error. It just worked out in a way where the ticket folks probably feel like saying "D'oh! Why today?"

The fellas need our support next season more than the last few seasons.
