Well, chances are Otz could have at least got us out of Round 1 of the NCAA tourney if he had the reins last year. I'll support him if he's coach.

Well, this is all BS. Another Earle Bruce, Gene Smith, Johnny Majors, Dan Gable, etc. screw over of ISU. I could name others too.

And Floyd to the Bulls too.
This fall is my 40th year since ISU freshman year; I'm tired seeing our coaching jobs as stepping stones. Enjoy the ambivalent NBA fans Fred; you'll never see them rock like we do Hilton.

Interesting the amount of people turning on Fred. I am glad I got to see his teams in person the last 4 years.

Here is the official statement which seems.... aggressive?

Basically if Thibs had rested Butler, Noah, and Rose more instead of playing them, this wouldn't even be happening right now.

I feel like that Diallo story could be false.

That's what I'm thinking. I know Hines can't give up his sources, but I don't think Hoiberg would tell his players that he was coming back and then turn around and tell a potential recruit that he might not stick around.

I wonder if a couple of these seemingly random raises/extensions coaches got recently (Collins at NW, Miles at Nebraska) were really random...or if Pollard has been poking around for awhile trying to find the next coach?

I'd be more worried about this if some home grown football coach had just led us to 9 to 11 win football seasons several years in a row.

ISU basketball has been well above average with 4 coaches, average with 1 and below average with just one during most of my lifetime. The biggest thing is keeping this year's team together because it could be great.

Fred, LE, Floyd= Good
Orr- average (literally when you look at his w/l)
Morgan- below average

McD- flat out bad

It is utterly shocking this surprises all of you...you really believed that Fred could not make it to see Diallo due to weather and than all of a sudden we were no longer considered? And did you not read into Williams saying he had not heard from Fres for several days after Matt A left, than he made some cryptic no comment thread about why he did not keep the ISU committment.

Face it, Fred has had this planned since probably before the season ended and it has hurt our program in a major way....but it has all been there to see

Well given how things are going I submit the following for our new fight song....

Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State
At least for a little while
We will fight with might for Iowa State
And while we’re here we’ll wear a smile

Blah Blah Blah

Loyal sons for 5 years true
No need to see our contract through
And so we’ll pack our desk, and cash that check
And say so long to I S U

I love what Fred did here but he played us like a fiddle. Honestly it was a ****** thing to do Iowa state.

I would bet my house that it played out like this.

1. Fred tells diallo he can't commit right around the time Matt flies out to see them.

2. Fred doesn't try again because who the hell cares? He won't be here.

3. Matt realizes that Fred is gone, he still wants to coach in college so he takes St. John's job.

4. Fred hires tj and tells him.

5. Tj tells romer.

6. Romer tells the media.

7. Fred has his surgery which allows him a great excuse to avoid the media while waiting for Bulls job to open.

8. Jamie performs minor search and hires the guy he had planned to since March.
