I'm not really into the dad bod obsession, if I have to drag my *** to the gym every day to not look like a schlub, guys do too. That doesn't mean they have to be a fitness model.
Hey now, some of us dads are fitness models.
As far as you know.

Just owning Sand Volleyball with another 3-0 sweep. Slow pitch softball is another story..
Sara hope hubby gets better, was the tailgate tour fun?
Pants I just said personal pics. You seem to think I suggested something else.
CG is 15 bucks a good price for a fifth of Bacardi select?
KC do you happen to have a pic of the pickup box full of mushrooms? I can't imagine finding that many.
OK, first off, part of the reason I ask is I think the whole thing is ridiculous, but as I understand it, it's not fatty level of let themselves go, just 'not a fitness model'. Like, 'hey, if I want a man that looks like a fitness model, he's also probably going to be a self centered ego bro, so maybe I'd rather have one that's not so obsessed and be more happy overall'
However, I guess I should admit that this 'perception' I reference is reading juuust a tiny bit. I don't think I've ever read much other than the teaser paragraphs as I scroll thru blogs, so maybe I'm way off.
The original article that started this whole dad bod thing was from a girl that said "I don't want a ripped guy to make me feel more insecure about myself so yay dadbod". I think that part is total bs. If a girl is totally insecure dating someone who hasn't seen the inside off a gym this decade isn't going to solve that problem.
My softball team got beat 17-0 last week. Hopefully we will do better tomorrow.
So, CG, 55...what's your thoughts on the whole "dad bod" thing...I mean, just for discussion's sake?
*edit: I should be clear that inputs from the other ladies are welcome as well, it's just that I assume that Rev, Birdy, KC, etc. are natch okay with dad bod, since, well, they're married to dad bods.
Glad to hear, as this is all I have going for me.Hell, I'm married to a granddad bod. You know, we were both slimmer back then. Age & gravity hit both of us. His barrel chest has settled more into a barrel belly. Not fat, per se, but not a hard body any more. Me? Well..went from a size 6 to a size none-of-your-business-but-more-than-I-used-to-be.
Honestly, though...what attracted me was his eyes and his personality. That hasn't changed.![]()

This. Mrs. Velo was drooling over you just talking about it. She would probably lick the screen if you posted this.
I can respect the dudes that are dedicated enough top do.fitness competitions, but I feel like dating them could be horrible. It would be nothing but egg whites, brown rice and chicken. This girl likes pizza and ice cream too much for that lifestyle. I think there's a happy medium that most people would prefer, but again beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Nothing wrong with mom bod.the whole thing seems squicky to me. Are they being proud of their dad-bodness/is it being considered a good thing to have? Not that it's a problem, but "mom-bod" would not be considered in the same manner, I believe. I don't think guys need to all look like Hugh Jackmansad
but then it'd be nice that all women (especially after having children) are not expected to look like Heidi Klum. And I wouldn't want Heidi Klum (and those like her) to feel bad for looking the way she does! I just wish that womens' bodies weren't scrutinized the way they are. I mean, I joke about Hugh and other fine specimens but Selena Gomez just got ripped apart for being fat when.......she is not. I feel like that same level of criticism just isn't there for guys like, oh Josh Radnor or some other completely normal, healthy guy.
IDK, I want people to want to take care of themselves and I don't want to get into the realm of doing mental gymnastics to say that being seriously obese is still healthy somehow, but I also don't want people being torn apart because of their weight. If that makes any sense.
Inside of a gym is overrated. Be like Boxster and get your workout through biking, gardening, yard work and strangling bunnies.
Sorry, the rest of the Boxster oldman fitness program does include dropping into Lifetime Fitness for da lifting of the weights and stuff.
