Since we are a Pepsi school now, just let them sponsor it as well.

For who?

Businesses who get tax write offs? Sure. Students? Hell yeah. Regular fans who want to get tickets? Not so much. Next year lower section seating is $5k minimum donation. How many regular guys can take their kids to games at that price? How many kids will get to experience Hilton magic during a great game next year?

I'm not saying we shouldn't demand what the market will bear but rather remember who makes Iowa State basketball special. Is the next young Fred Hoiberg out there but his family can't get tickets? Why not make one section alumni with kids only? Why not commit to bringing in young fans for every game?

Even Though Fred is a hometown boy he is still going to want more money in the future. we need to find a way to raise that. Ticket demand is extremely high now. I'm all for raising prices on the lower sections significantly. Especially if it means keeping upper section prices low

Lol this can't be real.....

A mailing went out to current johnnys members about this thats arriving this week.

Honestly still think its a terrible idea. Lets take an already cramped concourse and cram people onto an even smaller inner concourse. And then lets push the johnny statue inside the enclosed area away from 90% of fans.

Who the hell cares if Fred leaves?

I honestly think they should forget the repricing of Hilton. No one will care after next year (we owe Georges and Naz and Monte).

might be time for you to step away for the night, jsb. You are obviously upset about what may or may not happen. But, you're starting to be a detriment to the rest of the folks on the board. Give yourself a rest for a day or two. Calm yourself a bit. Maybe you'll gain a new perspective. Maybe you won't. But let it go for the night.

I noticed today ISU awarded the bid for the Johnny's expansion project. J. E. Dunn Construction of West Des Moines is the contractor. Project is to be completed by the start of basketball season.

Noticed Wells Fargo Arena recently got a new video board, which was installed around the same time as the Hilton videobard and ribbons. Curious if we'll see a replacement soon.

Did anything ever come from the idea about building a much larger "Johnny's" at the NE corner of Hilton? Probably not since they have put so much money into the current one. I thought it was a great idea to have a multi-level "Johnny's" that could handle tons more people. Something more like the new Endzone Club.

Really is still nothing wrong with ours. Wells original one was always a piece of crap from the start.
