I'm okay with the hug and sympathy, but I think I am better with the have a little sympathy but get them laughing about it thing. Definitely a Dad thing. It is even better if I can get them so "mad" at me that they pretty much forget their pain. That "mad" usually ends up in them smacking me and laughing. Yes it is a violent household.

I had boys. My approach was "don't bleed in the house". It was effective for the most part.

I did the candied bacon a couple years ago...didn't like...the sugar took away from the bacony goodness.
