This is still legal to do?

Throwback to Sunday night when Boxstercy was a kid. Sunday night was no cooking night. Mom Boxster would make popcorn served in these bright colored aluminum bowls. Very early '60s, popcorn and the Beatles on Eddie Sullivan.

Sunday night was also popcorn night for us! But it was made in a Stir Crazy. Sister and I would sit on the steps and watch TV through the bannisters. Mom didn't want us to spill pop or Kool-Aid on the carpet. I was a strange child...I would dip popcorn kernels into my pop/Kool-Aid, and then eat it.

Oh, the feels! We used to have popcorn on Sunday nights also. Sunday was Momma's day of rest. We always went out to lunch after church, then had popcorn for dinner. Daddy had a popcorn popper kind of like this...made THE.BEST.POPCORN.EVER. No modern popcorn popper comes anywhere close. A little oil in the bottom & three kernels. When they popped, you added the rest of the popcorn. When it started popping, you had to shake the pot over the coil to avoid old maids. After it finished, a big bowl with melted REAL butter & salt. Then divvied up in the aluminum bowls.

Our popper had a rounded bottom on the pot, but this is pretty similar. And the cord was that old heavy type, wrapped with fabric stuff that was dark grey with white flecks.

My mom will dip popcorn into a Pepsi at times.

I'll have to post a picture of my vintage Toastmaster toaster. I has the classic woven cloth around the plastic insulated wiring. Mom Boxster sent it to college with me. It was a wedding gift from someone to my parents for their wedding. It's the only toaster I have ever had. Seriously built to last. Pretty much used daily for over six decades.

I'm guessing the in-laws wax nostalgic about popcorn with oleo and lite salt.

For a long time I had my mother's waffle iron...same vintage with the heavy cord, and reversible plates that made waffles or were flat for pancakes. It finally died (moved too many times, used too much). :(

Did anyone else constantly check their grades and degree audit right before they graduate? I've been checking every other day because I have minor panic attacks that I might not graduate even though that is a far off possibility.

oh yeah. Fun little nightmares about that too.

The few times I have watched the ACM & CMA shows, the sound quality has sucked. One year the earbuds weren't working properly, and I remember several artists pulled them off & left them hanging while they were performing. I hope it was better tonight...

Glad you're enjoying them though. :)

that always seems to be a problem at these things. Most of them were ok tonight it seemed like.

Anyone who says otherwise can come and listen to my FIL complain to dish network about their $h!+ not working, but trying not to go ape$h!+ because MIL asked him to be on his best behavior.
