I'm just wearing it for my wedding because it is better than anything I own, and it keeps me from spending money on a rental.

I lived in Freiburg, Germany for a semester when I was studying abroad. I loved it there and would like to move back, but would probably want to follow a girlfriend or wife. I had a hard time adjusting until I was able to make some friends and would want to have that social safety net already there. I'd say if you can find a job (I wouldn't go over without one), do it. It was a great experience and you probably wouldn't have the issues I did. I'd just keep in mind that you may experience culture shock, even if you think it'll be pretty similar to the states.
