Next year's team is going to be on fire. They won't want to live through that again, they are way too good.
Yeah, this plus UCLA's size would have given us similar problems as the UAB game (plus SC and KSU games off the top of my head). Parker and Looney would have been a tough combo. If we could hit some shots and get the game to speed up, Hoiball could have kicked in though.I can't believe how much contact the refs are letting go in the tournament. defenders riding the offensive player all the way up the court with the body and no call.
Maryland, Baylor? JFC.I'd like to think that, but I thought that after South Carolina, Maryland, Baylor, Tech, etc.

The question why does it work so well (almost historically well this year) in the non-conference? First, the non-conference is a larger sample. Second, conference records often come down to close games. The game is called differently imo. Third, tournament success is largely based on your bluebloods (best team) success, not your average. Two good teams making a run like the SEC did last year changes the perspective. We only have one,..This is part of the problem IMHO.
The B12 plays soft but entertaining MBB and FB.
Then when post season comes around we fold like a bad tent to teams from other leagues when they punch us in the mouth.

We can make the NCAA tournament for the next 10 years and never have an easier route to the Sweet 16. #14 UAB and #11 UCLA. Show up twice and play hard.
Helps when you have a guy as big as Parker.Ucla out rebounds uab 41-26. I wonder if Bryce Alford knows how to box a guy out.

Could be, or just less opportunities for Madison. It certainly does; apparently he was blocking out both his guy AND Tyler Madison.
This should be something Fred should consider in the future - if the starters aren't putting in the effort pull them and let the subs provide the spark.I bet you our backups could have won that game... Should have played them ...
