Same way we lost to Tech. We gave a bad team confidence early and we forced bad shots that weren't going down. I was hoping after bad losses to South Carolina, Tech, and K-State, our team would have been focused and taken UAB seriously.

Watching this game, I think we would have really struggled with the size of UCLA. Not sure we would have gotten past them. Would have taken better than an average game.
This. JFC, how did we lose to these clowns. And freaking UCLA shouldnt even be in the tourney. What a joke.
Listening to them lionize UCLA and their program is making my stomach churn.

This is part of the problem IMHO.
The B12 plays soft but entertaining MBB and FB.
Then when post season comes around we fold like a bad tent to teams from other leagues when they punch us in the mouth.
Unless your name is Georges Niang I guess? If it is, you get slapped with 2 early fouls, and then become a non factor the rest of the way.
ISU luck right there. They let everyone play, except our best player. Whatever.
I am not rubbing it in because I pull for ISU when not playing Hawks. I went to SA last year to watch Clones. UAB might be one of the worst 4 team in NCAA tourney. Not sure who is worse. I looked at the brackets and did not see any way ISU would not make sweet 16. I guess too many players did the same thing.

The big 12 also does a bit better at calling fouls on defense than we saw thursday. I'm not blaming the refs, but i mean the idea that UAB should have had 3 fouls in each half (not counting the intentional ones they used to kill our offense\waste clock because they could) is laughable. We were called for about our average. UAB was called for 21 fouls today. Not saying the refs were to blame for that loss, but in a game we should have won by 25, the refs cost us 10 and our own ****** play cost us 15. Without one or the other, we win
We played like we were resting up for the final four. No sense of urgency, lazy passes and no hustle. I think we would have had a better chance playing Kentucky in the first round... At least the guys would have been awake.

I'm not handling it the best either. Some of it is my own fault. After Kansas City, I was in a borderline state of euphoria. Already bought Houston session tickets. Haven't slept worth a ****. Just got way too emotionally involved. Did jack **** at work Friday too. Watched a bunch of 30 for 30's on youtube. **** me.
Doesn't work that way. A terrible performance doesn't mean we didn't deserve to be in the tournament. The results from the season were not erased. Also, UCLA catching a bunch of breaks doesn't mean they deserved to be in the tournament.
