How about after the game so we don't confuse the **** out of our players
We're kinda busy trying to resurrect OUR football program.
It'd probably be smart just to use this as an excuse to cheer for 'Bama.
I have a long post in mod limbo on the first UAB thread. Basically we're under the UA system, but the board of trustees is all Bama. Paul Bryant, Jr. hates UAB Athletics and they screw us every chance they get.
Put it this way - we all know that UA knows how to build a football program, but after more than 20 years when ours was killed the only football only facilities on campus were a concrete block building for coaches offices, another block building for locker rooms, a practice field so full of holes that it was a notorious ankle/knee breaker, and three goalposts. That's it. We had a donor on the line for an $8m indoor practice facility and they wouldn't allow it.
It's a long and convoluted story that sounds like black helicopter theory if you are not in the middle of it. Basically they cripple our program periodically then ***** that it's slow in the 40. They stuck us with horrible coaches, denied us hiring our own, would not allow us to build an on-campus stadium. Shrug. They do us dirty, and the only way to change it is the legislature, which is full of Alabama Law grads. We're fighting like hell at the state capital now.
As to the chants, we try to get them out loud and proud at quiet times - the prime time is the other team's free throws, since the band and dj have to be quiet. We chant "Fire Ray Watts" instead of yelling miss it and brick and the like. If we can embarrass the SOB, we do. He has not attended a game since pulling the plug, did not hand out diplomas or shake hands with grads at our last graduation, has the admin building locked with guards on the doors, and goes nowhere without several security guards. Undergrads, graduate students, and faculty senate have all voted No Confidence. He has no shame. He did not attend the conference tournament, including the finals with his team in it in his home city. He's a worm.
Word is that he's going to Louisville, so we want him on camera squirming while his fans chant for him to be fired at the NCAA. If any of y'all could join in during timeouts or any other dead time (I don't expect you to do it while your team is at the free throw line. We got that one.) it would help.
That's the short thumbnail. There is a more extensive post in mod time out somewhere.
Satan coaches football at Alabama.
Y'all seem to be too. Cocky mothers at first but once we started talking you're good fans - proud of a good team but not jerks about it. If we gotta lose at least you guys aren't horse's ***** about it. Everything I see about your team I like, except for the playing you in the NCAA's part anyhow.
I hope it's a good game. I can easily see you going to the round of eight or final four. If nothing else our guys get some experience to build on, and if we pull it off, well, stuff happens in a one and done.

You might relate then to our AIB-Iowa story where Hoks tried to steal students for a head count. Then UNO also folder their championship wrestling and outstanding football program to go build an ice hockey rink/bball arena on their campus even though there were plenty of other venues.
