NFL: NFL Offseason Thread

279 receptions, 3,524 yards, 31 touchdowns in three seasons (45 games) with the Bears. Chicago better have a damn good replacement plan ready to put into action if they trade Marshall for chump change.

Brandon Marshall traded from Bears to Jets.

I think this means they will dump Jay Cutler to just about anybody, if they could. They are going to take the team apart and build young. Need picks and cap space to do that.

any word on what they gave up for him? Seems like basically a lateral move for Marshall. Jets get a good receiver with a few years left in the tank.

Expected news, but still kind of a bummer for Colts fans. I don't know if he'll call it quits now or try to catch on somewhere else for one more season. He started off last season fairly productive (30 catches for 419 yards through the first six games), but after that his production dropped off as he struggled with injuries.

Fine career if that's it, probably one of those guys whose name always gets brought up in Hall of Fame voting but never gets the necessary votes.

Jets get Marshall for a 5th rounder. Sounds like a steal to me.

Win-win. The Bears were tired of the distractions that came with the on field production and it sure looks like they're in the beginning stages of a massive roster overhaul. A 31 year old receiver with baggage making 8 million a year doesn't make sense for a team in rebuild mode.

Dolphins ended up getting three draft picks when they traded Brandon Marshall.

Only one is still playing in the NFL. And he's a backup cornerback.

Marshall will be great for whatever team he's on for a year or two until his **** starts piling up.

I agree. I just think he's worth a little more than a 5th round pick. I'm happy to see him out of the North.

Cheer up, man. Your team is the frontrunner to land Suh. I'd be thrilled for any team in the AFC East to finally get their **** together and knock off the Pats.

This kind of got overshadowed by all the other news this week, but Maurice Jones Drew retired. Great career; I watched him torch Indy for some of his best games. But his greatest career moment was absolutely lighting up Shawne Merriman back in Merriman's heyday.

I promise you that no one hates the Dolphins more than Dolphin fans. You should see what Daniel Tosh, a diehard Dolphin (and comedian if you don't know the name) has to say about the front office.

It was pretty simple to Miami to become a playoff team next year - improve the defense.

The Dolphins offense was just fine last year...then they dumped their 2nd and 3rd best receivers, and their best receiver hates it there. So it looks like the QB will have no weapons to throw to unless they manage to trade Wallace for someone like Johnson and then sign a guy like Eddie Royal.

Suh would be a dream get, but he wouldn't hide the fact that they need a CB and LB before their DLine is even touched.

I heard him talking about his decision on Mike and Mike this AM. Really well-spoken, intelligent guy.

Can't believe Pats are cutting Wilfork. But that is the NFL for you. Guys are nothing but great players, but minute they lose a step, its see you later.

Suh to the Dolphins

Vikings going after Broncos safety Rahim Moore....good luck with that, hopefully Denver upgrades.
