I believe this would be our first ever player named Kassoum. Still waiting on another player name Lafester. It has not happened yet.

Dustin is hitting shots at a great rate and that is huge for the team but if you think his 44% makes him even a top 5 shooter on the team I have a bridge to sell you.

It's all about sample size and also about the shots you take. Almost all of Dustin's 3s are (rightfully so) wide open. That's where he excels. Naz is going to take more shots where is isn't as open and from further away, that's just his game. His job is to space the floor and he will shoot more frequently. A hot streak or a cold streak will affect his percentage much less just due to the volume.

If Dustin misses his next 5 shots, his 3 point percentage will go from 44.7% to 40%.
If Naz misses his next 5 shots, his 3 point percentage will go from 42.1% to 40.9%.
If Dustin makes his next 5 shots, his 3 point percentage will go from 44.7% to 50%.
If Naz makes his next 5 shots, his 3 point percentage will go from 42.1% to 43.9%.

Dustin has made 8 of his last 15 3s, which is GREAT but unsustainable and with only 47 attempts all year his percentage is very high right now due to that recent stretch.

Again, even him shooting in the high 30s is a great thing for the team and his contributions have been huge.

And back on topic..... Yakwe would be massive. The official visit is a huge positive sign.

Agreed. He would fill a huge need in 2 years when we will lose at least 3 guys from our front court. Safe to say I really would love to see him in an Iowa State uniform in a couple years.

yep - same guardian.

IMO, the "package deal" that has been mentioned by recruitniks is less about Yakwe playing with Diallo if he is a two-year player, and more about a common guardian. If he likes ISU once, he probably likes ISU twice.

I can't find the article but IIRC Diallo and Yakwe's guardian really, really, liked Fred and Iowa State and was pushing Diallo towards ISU.

Listen, if someone asked me who I would rather have shoot a 3 for this team, I would say Naz. That being said, Dustin, as of now, has the best 3pt%. One poster used this to say that he is our best shooter, which statistically, is true. It's really not that big of a deal, but another poster felt the need to make it an argument.

That being said, I highlighted a few words, because I felt like it was the perfect opportunity for the "if my aunt had nuts, she'd be my uncle" quote.

If this kid comes in for an "official" visit before his senior year, that's some serious business for Fred and the coaching staff. Which in all reality means we are that much closer to being a big time program. One or two more years of this kind of recruiting will put us over the edge for a "name" program. The blue bloods will be worried.

Bridges would be a tremendous get. Cat is smoothe. What's intersting is his mentor is.....Jeff Grayer. Hope our relationship is still strong with Jeff.

If we can take care of business against Batlor and @KSU, Hilton will be absolutely rocking for senior night. We could be in line for an outright B12 championship. Yakwe will certainly be in for a treat.
