Exactly. If ISU had a 26-2 record with 15 straight wins and was ranked 10th, Ames and its surrounding areas would need an all new sewage system from all of the bricks coming down the toilet pipes. UNI deserves their ranking based on their record alone. ISU will get their seed based on literally everything else.
The difference between our fifteen straight wins and UNI's fifteen straight wins is enough to justify those bricks. The point you are missing is, while record is important, who you play to get that record is more important.
Of those fifteen wins:
8 would be against ranked opponents
5 of those 8 would be on the road
we would be 14-0 in conference play
14 of the fifteen would be top 150 rpi
Of UNI's fifteen straight wins:
1 has been ranked (at home)
only 5 have been in the top 150 rpi
2 of those five have been on the road
