Have you even looked through this thread? It's filled with disrespect.

And if we replaced UNI and Wichita State with BYU and St. Mary's College (just the names, records and all other numbers stay the same), would you be arguing as hard that it is justified?

Or Murray State which he quickly dismissed.

I was just curious if you, personally, believed that if they both won out, that UNI should stay ranked ahead of ISU. Regardless of what KU does, and ISU finishes either 1 or 2 in Big 12 with a 14-4 conference record.
Which one?

1 - KU Loses. ISU moves to #1. ISU jumps UNI.
2 - KU wins. ISU stays #2. UNI stays ahead.

Full of disrespect for the concept that teams should move up every week for beating horrible basketball teams. Nobody should respect that. It's stupid.

UNI is a very good team. The RPI/BPI/Massey matrix of computer averages, etc all evaluate how good they are much better than a system that treats 2 wins against crap teams as better than beating solid Big 12 teams on the road.

UNI will have another chance to show their merit in the WSU rematch and MVC tournament. There was no reason to elevate them all the way to the top ten for beating nobodies as the teams they moved past were beating ranked teams.

Where in my post am I being an idiot? ISU is 4-4 on the road. That is not good. They lost to TTU. That is pitiful. Those two things alone should keep them out of the top 10. I'm not saying ISU is worse than UNI by any means, but with their body of work up to this point, UNI deserves their ranking.

Both UNI and ISU have one loss they clearly shouldnt, Evansville and UNI.

Beyond that, when comparing ISU and UNI's records, those other 3 losses ISU has UNI would be HEAVY underdogs at those venues (@Baylor, @OU, @Kansas). If that record shouldnt get ISU in the top 10 then UNI should be nowhere near it.

You're saying all of those teams have the same record as UNI does right now, would I still be arguing they deserve to be ranked higher? Yes...for UNI. WSU being ranked as high as they are is not justified at all. I have no explanation or defense for Wichita.

That's not what we're talking about. UNI is ranked, based on their performance in their schedule.

The only thing UNI has over WSU is their win over them. And you can't justify WSU at all so how can you possibly justify that UNI deserves a top ten ranking?

BDJ is playing very well in a supporting roll...of all people myself, HFCS, started a well received thread about good Big 12 basketball officiating...if Edozie were to get some playing time there would be nothing left to discuss negatively.

I still think Fred should wear a tie.

And I'm sick of hearing Jock Jams at Hilton.

The lesson I see is that good wins can't really move you up at this time of the season, you only move up when teams ahead of you lose. Either that, or the voters don't consider winning two BigXII road games in a week to be unexpected for us.
Then they shouldn't be too surprised for UNI to win against cupcakes, yet them and WSU are still moving on up.

NOOOOOO...I said without regards to what KU does!! Leave KU out of this...if both UNI and ISU win out in the regular season, in your personal opinion, SHOULD UNI remain ranked ahead of ISU? This has absolutely nothing to do with KU. I'm really not looking for an argument, I just want your personal opinion.

We would probably be 2-5 in RPI if we win out the season, possibly even #1 given KU is still hanging onto #1. I'm not sure UNI can move up much even if they sweep WSU.

Kind of points out flaw in the system but also shows how ridiculous our schedule (and KU's) is.

That's a good question. I don't think it would be a reflection of how "good" a team is. ISU is a better team than UNI, but I n above ISU. I guess it would depend on how Kansas finishes. If ISU finishes #1, they'd probably jump UNI...and they should. If Kansas wins out and ISU remains at #2, I think UNI finishes above them (assuming they too win out) and I think they should be ranked ahead of ISU.

Maybe the best analogy I can think of off the top of my head is Marshall football when they were undefeated this year. Did they deserve to be ranked at the time (I'm talking about when they were undefeated)? There were probably 40 teams below them better than Marshall, but because Marshall won their games, they got ranked. Same for UNI right now IMO.

But you said UNI deserved to be above ISU and ISU being in the top 25 would be a joke. This is a different tune. We get why it happens.

I think the sweet thing is we've been pretty consistent in the AP all season. Not popping in and out like some teams. How many weeks straight has Hoiball been ranked? He's doing a fab job.

I'm calling ******** and I don't need to look any further than your response to andybernard. The fact that you think ku losing would have some merit on Iowa State jumping UNI is ridiculous. Conference standings should have nothing to do with rankings. ISU at 14-4 in the toughest conference in CBB alone would be the reason to move them ahead of UNI.

That's not what we're talking about. UNI is ranked, based on their performance in their schedule.

The problem with your argument is there are likely around 50 teams in the country that would have 2 or less losses against UNI's schedule.

That doesn't mean all of them or even most of them are better than UNI, only that its silly to say being 26-2 against UNI's schedule is an argument for being a top 10 team. The only argument for UNI being a top 10 team is a subjective "eye test." The problem is they have only played a handful of games against strong enough competition to do that kind of evaluation in regards to being a ranked team so the sample size is really small.

You just trashed your own biggest win. LOL.
