Had a fantastic day. My intramural basketball team advanced to the championship. We won the quarterfinal game by two points in OT and then beat the champs from a couple years ago by six in the semis (they beat us by 16 or so in the regular season this year). Then I come home and watch the second half of a nice win in Stillwater.

I'm getting a lot of flak for getting married during the football season.

My sister is getting married during the round of 32 of March Madness!:realmad::mad:

Honestly, if they are ISU football fans, they're better off hanging at your wedding anyway. Well, it can't be a home game - didn't you say that already? Cause you couldn't have a wedding there if there were a game that day I bet.

This old guy at the office has his birthday today. He brought two pans of Chocolate German Cake. No idea what it is.

I think my mom likes that stuff but I've never tried it. In pictures it looks like it has sauerkraut or something in it.

Don't you think coconut would make more sense than sauerkraut on a cake? ;) I've never had it because I don't like chocolate cake or coconut (it is actually caramel/pecan/coconut frosting). Wiki tells me the name is actually for the guy who created the combo, Sam German, not that the cake flavor originated in Germany.

You're exactly right, but I risk missing ISU in the big dance!

I figured it was probably coconut which is also mostly gross but sauerkraut sounded funny. And also because the coconut always looks slimy and krauty instead of coconutty.

Somehow 2 coconut haters (and I mean HATE) produced one coconut lover. Two negatives make a positive? Just yesterday in the store she picked up a bag of shredded coconut and was like, "this looks soooo good!" Gross.

Odd child.

Old guy here knew exactly what this cake thing is you are all dissing. Mom Boxster used to make it. Guess you all won't like the chocolate no-bake cookies made with oatmeal, raisins and coconut that were a fav of mine as a little kid.

I heard a colleague going off on this last fall, because one of their friends or family members scheduled a wedding for a home game weekend.
My thought was, "Well, don't call them a friend if this is that big a problem. It's just a game. This is their life."
What if football is my life?
