shoot, the game is at 4pm? Probably going to miss that unless shopping goes much faster than anticipated.

Wait...you're going out shopping today?

Eeergh....you have my sympathies.

I know. I'm well aware, sigh. I tried to get a lot done online to make it better, but obviously last week we didn't leave for anything. The cheese and fudge last night took care of some more. I think the grocery store is actually our longest stop. Somehow I'm making like a lot of dishes for stuff, including a main dish for one of the family gatherings. I'm like wait, what? Since when am I a real adult at this things? Does that mean I can not sit in the basement this year?

Worse than the first? I'm a huge Tolkien fan and I thought the LOTR was pretty good but the first Hobbit was terrible and the second was only marginally better. Jackson should never be allowed to touch any classic ever again...ever.

I loved the LOTR movies. The problem with The Hobbit is that almost everything in the movie wasn't even in the book. Like, seriously almost everything. They're trying to make 3 two and a half out movies out of one 400 page book. Plus, the book was pretty much written as a children's book, not an epic saga like the LOTR trilogy. It probably wouldn't be nearly as bad if The Hobbit was just one movie instead of the money grab three that they made it.

The Hobbit by and large is a really boring book.

It really is. The most suspenseful parts are a dragon being tricked and some trolls also being tricked in a separate situation. If people watched the movies and then read the books expecting the same, they would be massively disappointed.

Saw an ad on Facebook for The Sims 4. Have never played a Sims game before, but looks like a fun little waste of time. But at the same time seems a game that nerds that hate their real life play to live a different life. Anyone ever touch the game? Brooklyn, how does Mr. Cowgirl feel about it.

I dressed up as a Sim for Halloween a couple years back.

It looks entertaining enough where it could be enjoyable on a rainy day? With college football no longer being made and college basketball having been out of commission for a game for a long while now, I don't have much for go to enjoyable games. I tried Assasins Creed. Enjoyed the first one. The second wasn't awful but I finished. The third was terrible. It also doesn't help much that I'm not typically into those kinds of games anyway.

Do you like management type of games? Like Roller Coaster Tycoon and such? It is a management type game where you control a fake person's life and build their house and things. I enjoy it a lot.

I'd actually be more curious to set up the environment and then watch it like a fish bowl. Can you do that or do you have to control their every move?

I'm probably the only person that enjoyed EA Sports's NFL Head Coach game because I loved that you hired your staff, developed your team and called the plays, but you could let the computer actually play the down so you had no control over of the play you called was successful or not. I love the management parts of games (whenever I played Madden, I never played actually games, just did more of the GM stuff).

I enjoyed Sims in middle and high school but got bored with. My wife still plays it from time to time if she gets REALLY bored but that is quite rare.

You largely control every aspect of their life and nearly everything they do.

This is why random thread is important to me. Everyone i know in real life would go "WUT?" to these Firefly references. The regulars here would make a good Serenity crew.
