Random thoughts III

Hey Cowgirl...that layabout husband of yours out of bed yet today, or is he gonna milk it some more?

:pwink:

OK, I can't be ALL nice.

he was up and moving this morning. The aspirin, a shower, and that half a bowl of soup did wonders. He woke up and said he was hungry and thirsty today :)

My box of gifts showed up one day early. That thing is like a box of Christmas. It's awesome. Glad DH was home so they could leave it there and not give it to the post office or something that would keep me from turning in my gift tomorrow.

OK: Cowgirl stream of consciousness to english translation for the random visitors (it took me a minute to figure out what she was tryin'a say)...Box of gifts is for a gift drive at the gym (who does that?...seriously, a gym doing a gift drive?)...not giving it to the post office refers back to some recurring delivery problems with their snotty postman.

And glad to hear Mr. Cowgirl is feeling better.

yeah most of the gifts are for the nieces, but I needed that one for the gym. They'd done this every year, you pick a name/gender off the tree, bring back an unwrapped gift, and they turn it in. I think it's Toys for Tots. Or the staff keeps it for their own kids maybe, I don't know. But I like to put my gift in.

I'm going to ask my Evernote question again. Anyone use it, like it, otherwise?

I used it for about a week, but got frustrated with the functionality. I spent more time trying to make notes, schedules, and then make sure the tasks were completed. And I decided I really didn't need any more dumb advisers on my phone.

Sticky notes are where it's at!

this is what I was wondering about. I'm a sticky note fan but I was thinking with all the random notes I have everywhere on house stuff, home to-do list, work to-do list, stuff to buy at Target.......that maybe something like this would be useful. I tried Cozi for a while but I couldn't get into the habit of it.

I'm not a huge list guy, but I'll text or E-mail myself a list. I also use the voice memo option on my phone. Chances are if one of those three doesn't cover the things I have to remember, I probably won't get around to everything I need to do anyway.

OMG...with cowgirl's planning, I'm picturing:

I went to my niece's band perfomance last night. It was held in their gym. This kid (probably 10-11 years old) was standing next to the bleachers with some of his buddies and would bounce a basketball every so often. The performance was predominately a string perfomance, so the sound of the ball really echoed in the gym, trumping the music.

His mom was standing about 10 feet away not saying anything. After two songs, I politely ask the mother to tell her son to stop. She rolled her eyes, turned away and ignored me. I promptly walked down the bleachers, past the mom, over to the kid and held out my hand (didn't say a word). The kid handed me the ball. I took it and I walked back up the bleachers, receiving many smiles from other parents.

How do some people just have no respect for others?

I use Cozi (but not the calendar). We have it on the iPad and our phones, so we can each add to the lists. Under shopping we have it categoriezed by store (Target, Walmart, grocery store, Menards/Lowes/Home Depot type store). Then we have lists like Gift Ideas, Child 1 softball, Child 1 school supplies, etc. Then we use the To-Do lists. Hubby was kind enough to make a to-do list for him and for me (things like get estimate for carpet cleaning and window washing). We have a shared to-do list which is a joke between us. Not too funny when I ask th 11yr old to add something to my Target list on my phone and a synopsis of all lists comes up. "What is the Humpty Hump?" ;)

Shoot, that's an easy one...Just answer "It's a dance...first you limp to the side, like your leg was broken, shakin' and twitchin' kinda like you were smokin'...crazy, whack, funky...people say, yo, you look like MC Hammer on crack, Humpty"

Then when he/she gives you this OMG rolleyes look...you're golden.

Oh, dear....!

Cowgirl...you being in Il when we're in the dells might end up being okay...looks like we might be swinging over to see an old college friend that I have barely talked to the last couple of years...it'd be really good to get over there. We used to see them a couple times a year, but once all the kids started coming, it got so much harder to make it work (they have 2 that are older than ours, so it was like 8 straight years of them or us having newborns/diapers kids) .

They say the Humpty Dance is your chance to do the hump.
