I wouldn't call either of us super handy - but DH is an engimuhneer. He likes to figure things out.

Wait, Mr. cowgirl is an engineer? I thought during the whole "Mr. cowgirl wrecks the car" fiasco that you said something about working at an insurance company? I figured he was a stats major or computer nerd or something, what with the gaming and not being able to drive. Second sentence...what kind of engineer....sometimes an engineer 'trying to figure things out' can be more dangerous than a layperson. Ain't no way I'm letting a EE near anything mechanical or vice versa...or even a mechanical engineer near mechanical things can totally overdo something that isn't that hard.

I WILL NOT die before my kids are both 18. Misogynistic BIL and his wife are currently listed as guardians on our will. Hoping that'll change in a few years when her younger sister has kids. My brother...IDK...he had to borrow money from M&D at age 31.

Had a late 90's Olds cutlass with a horizontally opposed 6 cylinder that you had to loosen the engine mounting bolts and roll the engine forward to get at the rear spark plugs. I did have a manual, but I didn't have to watch a video ...procedure involved a ratchet strap and a hole in a stud of my apartment's garage wall.

My Passat had the strangest placement for it's battery as well. It was underneath ****, more or less. I don't know if they do that on purpose or are just like "well, ****, looks like we've got a little room here. Throw it in."

My SIL and her hubby are the guardians of my daughter as well. There'll be no dying in my future either.

I once replaced a sink in my bathroom and that procedure involved putting a hole in the drywall in the hallway with a wrench. **** that sink.

Computer/Software engineer.

These are the proper responses and the whole purpose behind my Cyclone Brother thing. Here’s how I explained it to my two motorcycle sport bike riding Cyclone brothers, “Look, if either of you guys kills yourself riding those damn bikes it might also kill me. Neither of you have brothers so as your Cyclone brother I am going to have to marry your widow and raise your children. If you both crash and get killed riding together I am going to have to marry both of your wives and raise both your families. I might survive one of the wives but marrying both of these younger women would kill an old man like me so ride careful!”

Really? What is it discussing, and with whom?

Side note...I thought most secondary schools stopped having individual students dissect animals?
Is it talking or singing ragtime? Because that's completely different.

I have to say, I find your relentless questioning of Mr. Cowgirl quite hilarious.

Honestly, the guy barely crossed my mind until cowgirl emasculated him publicly by declaring that the accident was all because he couldn't drive her car and how SHE wouldn't have had that problem because she would have known better, and she'd have to have her brother teach him how to drive in the space of about a day. After that, it just became a thing I ran with because that would have been so ego crushing had he seen it....but I really hold no ill will toward him, heck, what do I know about him? Nothing really, just a few stereotypes I've played out, and the few things she's said.

I stay away from football threads but that **** you do not hear at ISU games is gold.

So my teachers think it's better to do the final the week before finals, so know I have 3 projects, 2 papers, and 2 test this week, this should be fun.

DH's ego is hardly that fragile. We both thought there would have been a better chance of avoiding it had I been driving. The same would have been true if I'd have been driving his. Though trying to stop when that moron pulled out in front of me at the grocery store has me questioning whether I'd have been able to get my car stopped then either.
